Happy New Year

The last day of 2020! It has been a strange and challenging year for sure. We have been blessed through it all. I can look back over this last year and see GOD'S hand all over us. While 2020 was definitely difficult at times, with more challenges ahead, GOD'S blessings were abundant and His promises were fulfilled.

How about you? Can you look back at this past year, as difficult as it has been, and see how GOD has seen you through? I know that I can, often, focus so much on the negative that I miss the good stuff. For me, it is much easier to see and remember the things that have gone wrong than the things that have gone right. But, when I focus on GOD, all I see are His blessings.

Today's word is Revelation 21:5, NKJV, which reads, "Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.'"

I don't know about you but I know that I am glad that GOD is making all things new. Yes, 2021 will be full of challenges and difficulties but it will still be full of GOD'S Mercy and Grace and Blessings. Come what may, He is still GOD and He is still on the throne, working all things for my good.

My prayer for each of you is that 2021 will be your best year ever. I pray that GOD brings peace and blessings that you could never have thought, dreamed, nor imagined. I pray that you are closer to GOD than ever before. I pray that you can feel and see that He makes all thing new. Happy New Year!

Be Blessed,

Found Faithful

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and some wonderful family time. As strange as this year has been, it has really flown. In just a few days, we will be turning the calendar over to a new year. WOW!

During this past year, we have all experienced our ups and downs, some more significant than others. We have all shared a pandemic with one another, which I hope will be the only time we have to do that. Even through the pandemic, though, I have tried to remind myself to be faithful. I don't know what GOD has planned, but, I want to be faithful in doing His will.

Today's word is Proverbs 20:6, NIV, which reads, "Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find?"

I have shared before that disloyalty is my "button". Nothing sets me off or shuts me down or turns me off more than disloyalty. I don't need folks in my life that will tell me one (1) thing to my face and something different behind my back. We all need those in our lives that will stand for us, when we are right, regardless of what the crowd is crying. We also need to be that person.

I have shared countless times that, when my time on this earth ends, I want to hear my SAVIOR say, "Enter in my good and faithful servant." I want to be found faithful.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Rejoice in GOD

Well, we are just a week from Christmas! And, like so many other things this year, it will be a little different. There will be socially distanced get togethers and, hopefully, precautions taken to protect the most vulnerable, especially. But, again, it is temporary; this, too, shall pass.

I am sure that most people, as I can, can look back in his/her life and see times when it seemed as if it would never get better. Then, it got better. But, then, something else came along that seemed that it would never go away, never get better. But, then, it got better. And, the cycle just seems to continue from distraction to distraction to victory after victory.

Our word for today is Romans 12:12, ESV, which reads, "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."

While things have been extremely different than I could have ever imagined, I know that GOD will see us through and that He has it under control. I rejoice in the hope that GOD is on the throne and that He will bring us through our difficult times.

Things have been difficult. Things have looked gloomy. Things seem to go from chaos to chaos. But, we can rejoice that our Father is working it all out. It may seem a little different, and we may all be a little strained, but, we can rejoice in GOD!

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Trust in Him at ALL times

There is no doubt that there is a lot going on that can be quite troubling and worrisome. You can read the papers or watch the news and see how the pandemic continues to rage and worsen with each passing day. There is a vaccine that will, hopefully, begin to slow the spread but it is still months from widespread administration.

There are so many that are looking for employment, looking for assistance, looking for their next meal. There are things that we cannot fathom happening in the lives of others that we may never know. When things, much like they are now, begin to grow worse and worse each day, there seems to be nothing to do. BUT...

Today's word is Psalm 62:8, NKJV, which reads, "Trust in Him at all time, you people; pour out your heart before Him; GOD is a refuge for us."

When things are bad and going worse, there is only one (1) response - go to GOD. Prayer, as I heard yesterday, should be our first response, not our last resort. GOD is listening. He is still on the throne, still working things for our good, still waiting for His people to humble themselves and pray. We can trust in Him at ALL times, even when it feels as if things will never get better.

GOD is a refuge for us; He is the One that shelters us from pursuit, from danger, from trouble. He, again, isn't surprised by all that is going on. He isn't shocked at how things are happening. He will protect His people and bring them through things thought impossible to things unimaginable. Trust in Him at ALL times!

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Always Has, Always Will

I make no bones about it; I am blessed to be married to Trish. She is such a godly, loving, caring, supportive, Christian wife. I am far from perfect, far. Yet, she loves me like I cannot explain and will never be able to deserve. Even when I have failed completely, she loves me.

Even as much as Trish loves me, though, GOD loves me even more. He sent His Son to pay my sin debt so that I could be adopted into His royal family. More than that, though, He loves me enough to allow me to be who I am, which is nothing to brag about, but He allows me to be me.

We have discussed before that GOD could have made us all spiritual robots and made us to worship and obey Him. Period. Yet, He proves His love to us, not only by dying for us when we didn't deserve it, but by allowing us free will. He allows us to choose to love Him, which I do. And, as we just discussed, He loves us even when we have really messed it up and made a fool of Him.

Today's word is 1 John 4:18, NKJV, which reads, "There is no fear in love: but perfect love casts out fear..."

GOD'S love for us is perfect. We don't have to worry about losing His love, Him falling out of love with us, with Him withholding His love because we don't deserve it. He loves us - always has, always will.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

For all people

We are just a few days from celebrating the birth of our SAVIOR. Yes, I know it is still two (2) weeks away but it is getting really close. Especially, when you haven't done all the shopping you need to, and I may know someone that has not.

I love Christmas! Love it! I have shared before that I had experienced many Christmases prior to Blake and Olivia coming into our lives, but, once you celebrate Christmas through the eyes of a child, Christmas takes on a whole different meaning and feeling. It is only because of the child, born to a virgin, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger that we have reason to celebrate.

Our word for the day is Luke 2:10, KJV, which reads, "And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

The angel had appeared to the lowly shepherds, who were out in the field tending their flocks. The angel was there to assure them that there was nothing to be afraid of, and to bring the good tidings. Not just good tidings, though; Good tidings of Great Joy. The good news of the SAVIOR being born was field with Great Joy, it still is.

Christmas is the greatest time of year! The greatest! Even when things have been a little weird, and a whole lot trying, there is reason to celebrate and share the good news. The good news that is for all people.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Look Up

If you were to ask people about me, I am sure that most of them would agree that I am a pretty confident individual. Now, I don't want to come across as arrogant or egotistical but I am fairly confident. I believe that I have shared before though, that being confident is not only being confident in what you can do, it is also being confident in what you cannot do.

I am absolutely confident in the things that I cannot do. No doubt, the year 2020 will go down in history as one (1) of the strangest, most challenging years we ever experienced. And, there have been so many things that have happened this year that I have been absolutely unable to do anything about. NOTHING. Yet, I am confident that GOD is in control and that He will see us through.

Today's word is Psalm 5:3, NKJV, which reads, "My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD: in the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up."

My confidence comes, not in what I can do, and not even in what I cannot do, but, my confidence is in GOD and what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do. He has never left me nor forsaken me. He has always provided all my needs. He sticks closer than a brother. He has prepared a way and a place. And, I am confident that He is working all things for my good.

Confidence isn't a bad thing. It is in what, or in Whom, we place that confidence. If we put our faith and hope in JESUS, we have every reason to be confident. There is no reason to walk around with our heads down; through faith in JESUS, we can confidently look up.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

He will satisfy

It has been a while since my last post; things have been busy, with Thanksgiving and kids out of school and so much more. However, I am not complaining about being busy; I am a little disappointed in my time management though. It seems that I should be getting a lot more done than I am but I am not. Ever been there?

I think we all go through periods when we are constantly tired, forever pushing forward, but seeing little results. It is in these times that it feels as if we are a vehicle stuck in the mud, spinning our tires. We are moving really fast but we don't seem to be getting anywhere.

The word for today is Jeremiah 31:25, ESV, which reads, "For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish."

When we are busy doing GOD'S work, He will give us the strength and the necessities to see it through. If we are diligent and persistent to seek and to do His good will, there will be nothing lacking that is needed to get the job done. It may seem as if we are not accomplishing anything or that we are stuck spinning our wheels, but GOD is at work and we are His tool; let Him use you.

On the other hand, I have to be sure that what I am doing is what He would have me to do. It is during these times of busyness that I really need to stop and evaluate what I am busy doing, and why. I can rest assured that if I am busy doing His work, He will satisfy and replenish my soul.

Be Blessed,

And, that is a promise

I try to never make a promise that I can't keep. It is easy to tell people, "And, I promise," knowing that things that are outside of our control can, and will arise, causing us to have to "break" our promise. So, I try not to make promises that I may not be able to keep.

Now, there are things that I can promise with absolute certainty. I promise that I will always love my family. We will have times when we may not "like" each other, but, I will ALWAYS love them. I promise that I am going to try to serve my SAVIOR, though, sometimes, I will stray and even break that promise. But, GOD has given us promises, and He will keep them all...

Today's word is Romans 4:21, NKJV, reads, "and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."

GOD has made us promises that He will always keep. The Bible tells us that GOD cannot lie; He is incapable of making a promise and not keeping it. And, even more than that, He is GOD; He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than anything we could ever think, dream, or imagine. We can rest assured that what GOD has promised, He will perform.

In life, people will break their promises, including us. Sometimes, those broken promises are inadvertent and unintentional, but, they are no less broken. However, we can know with certainty that GOD will keep every promise He has ever made. And, that is a promise.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Keep Doing It

2020 has been a very interesting year, to say the least. We have had some challenges physically, socially, economically, internationally, politically. We have gotten to know the names of people that we probably never would have known without the events of this year.

When I see the name Dr. Fauci, I know that this is a guy that knows a lot of stuff about infectious disease. He has studied this subject for years, and we have listened to him direct us through the worst pandemic in our lifetimes. His job is really important. You know what, so is what you do...

Today's word is a quote from William James that I am sure I have used before but is more relevant today than ever: "Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does."

For everyone out there doing what you do, trust me, it is important. For every parent, every child, every neighbor, every friend, everyone that is doing anything, makes a difference. I know that my life would not be as good and as comfortable and as easy without each person doing what they do.

GOD has called us all for such a time as this. He has us where He intends us to be right now. There is nothing more important than to serve Him faithfully in whatever we do. You may think that you are just one of millions; but, to some people, you are one in a million. Remember, what you do and who you are is important. Keep doing it.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Victory is Ours

Well, our football season came to an end this weekend, with a 40 - 41 lose in four (4) overtimes. Our boys played extremely well and extremely hard. The team they faced was larger but they accepted the challenge and fought all night. Unfortunately, we coaches, made a few mistakes that ended up costing us the game.

Sometimes, we can play as well as we can, we can fight as hard as we can, and things still don't go our way. But, we still have victory because, when you do your very best, you are a winner. The scoreboard is not where the real results are shown, it is in the heart.

Today's word is Psalm 73:26, NIV, which reads, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

In this life, there will be failures. We live in a broken and fallen world, which will bring heartache and failure numerous times in our lives. We will have times in our lives when we are doing our absolute best but circumstances and others will determine our outcome. We can pour our heart and soul into things and still end up on the losing end. BUT...

But, if JESUS is your SAVIOR, you have already won the greatest prize of all. Yes, this world will wear us down but JESUS will one day take us UP. This world will bring us heartache and disappointment, but JESUS will heal our hurts and fill our hearts with gladness. Hold your heads up, victory is ours!

Be Blessed,

Not Standing Alone

So, it seems that lately I am just embroiled in strife and conflict. Not a place that anyone likes to be and not a place of my choosing. There have been some things that needed to be addressed here and there and it seems to have fallen to me to address them. Again, not my ideal spot but it is what it is.

One of the things that has come from this is that I have hurt a friend by standing up for what I believe is right. He and I are certainly on the opposite sides of the issue and each of us have our supporters. It has certainly hurt him and he has expressed his feelings, his hurt, his anger, which is understandable. But, I can't think of any way I could have handled it and differently.

Today's word is a very familiar passage, which I am sure we have used before. James 4:17, NLT, which reads, "Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it."

Even when it is uncomfortable, even when it is not popular, even when it is not well received, if we know what is right, we ought to do it. Why? Because, if we know what is the right thing to do and we don't do it, it is sin. I would rather be uncomfortable than sinful.

We will all have decisions to make, stands to make, in our lives. There will be those times when everyone supports you and you can obviously see that you are doing the right thing. There will be other times when it seems that you are standing on your own. But, if it is GOD'S will for you to stand, you are not standing alone.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Make today Amazing

Well, the results are in. Well, not exactly. We await vote counts in several states to determine who won the Presidential election. It is going to be close, and may take days to completely figure out.

There are some that are sweating it out, sitting on pins and needles. Me, I am going to go to work and live my life. The sun is going to rise in the east and set in the west regardless of whom wins the presidency. My faith is in JESUS.

Today's word is just a simple reminder that today is still a gift: "Today only happens once...make it amazing."

No matter what is going on, I have reasons to keep on keeping on. I serve a risen SAVIOR, Who has prepared a way and a place for me to spend eternity with Him. I have a wonderful family, good health, a great life. How about you?

Don't let the worries and the concerns about tomorrow take away the joys of today. Make today amazing!

Be Blessed,

The LORD Rules

In case you didn't know, it is election day in the United States. Today, we will go to the polls and elect a president, vice president, senators, and representatives, along with voting for certain amendments. I pray it is peaceful and honors GOD.

If it is anything like previous elections, there will be those, whose candidate loses, that will declare that they are moving to a different country. Why? Because they don't like the candidate elected by the majority of the union.

Today's word is Judges 8:23, NKJV, which reads, "But Gideon said to them, 'I will not rule over you, nor shall my son rule over you; the LORD shall rule over you.'"

It doesn't matter to me which persons are elected today. I ultimately answer to the LORD, as we all do. We will all stand before the One Holy and Just GOD and give an account for everything we've done, whether it was good or bad. We ALL will.

There is no need to be concerned about who is in office. Again, praying it is peaceful and civilized, as it should be. My concern is being faithful to my Supreme Ruler, the LORD, Who rules over us all.

Be Blessed,

The same for you

I seem to be in the middle of some things that there are two (2) very passionate and very caring and very vocal sides. I try to listen to all facts prior to making decisions, even when everyone wants you to decide immediately.

As a Christian, I truly want to glorify GOD with everything I do. Now, Ihave failed far more often than I have succeeded, far more, but, I want to be in His will. We have to be careful when we find ourselves caught between two (2) because it can turn into an opportunity for satan to get a victory, if we aren't careful.

Today's word is 1 Peter 5:8, NKJV, which reads, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."

Satan is looking for any opportunity to make JESUS look bad, and the times we find ourselves betwixt and between, are prime time for him. Pray that I will make GOD honoring decisions. I will pray the same for you

Be Blessed

Slam that door

So, we all have our situations that frustrate us; I know I certainly do. I seem embroiled in a battle, even today, that is not of my doing but others want me to fix it. Frustrations are a part of life, and dealing with others can be frustrating. I know I have been a frustration to others.

It is easy, when we feel frustration, to look for an easy way out. I have been looking for that in this current situation. However, sometimes, there are no easy answers, and we know that oftentimes, the right thing to do is the hardest thing to do.

Today's word is Ephesians 4:27, NIV, which reads, "And do not give the devil a foothold."

My frustration can cause me to open the door of opportunity for satan to walk in and "talk me into" taking the easy way out or to look for an opportune way to ease my frustration. I know because, unfortunately,  I have given him that opportunity before.

As in this current situation, I want to be faithful and to glorify GOD. I don't ever want to be a poor reflection on my LORD. I want to allow Him to lead me in every decision. I want to slam that door in satan's face.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

It may be

It has been a busy weekend, and rainy. It rained all day Saturday, and it rained A LOT. The rainy day made outdoor activities impossible, including postponing our scheduled youth football game.

Life is that way sometimes. We will have those days when things don't go exactly as planned so, we have to change our plans. We can allow the change to negatively affect us or we can see the change as a blessing and an opportunity.

Today's word is a saying I came across and that I try to remember when things change my plans: "GOD will only wreck your plans when He sees that your plans are about to wreck you."

Sometimes, the change in plans are to get our attention, to allow us to see how flawed the plan is. Sometimes, the change in plans allow us the opportunity to do something even better than what we had originally anticipated. Sometimes, the change in plans is to save us a lot of heartache and headache.

So, we didn't play Saturday, but, we had some quality family time. And, there is never enough family time. Plans may change; see the change for the blessing it may be.

Be Blessed,

His Blessings

We have those times when it seems that nothing goes right. We have recently had some tree work done, two (2) taken down and six (6) trimmed. If you haven't had that done in a while, the price is fairly staggering.

Then, the reason we had the tree work done is because a huge sweet gum had a root that broke the driveway, and the driveway was quickly deteriorating. So, we had to get the driveway replaced, which is shockingly expensive.

Today's word is Proverbs 10:22, NKJV, which reads, "The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it."

While it cost money to fix and repair the things that needed attention, GOD had put us in a position that we could procure the funds necessary. He has blessed us above anything we could have ever thought, dreamed, or imagined, and He has done exactly that time and time again.

I know things are going to tear up and need fixing. I know that they will usually do exactly that at some difficult times. But, I also know that GOD will help us with our needs; His blessings make me rich!

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Always and Never

I have shared before that there a a few words we try not to use in our home: always and never. There are times when both apply - "I will ALWAYS love you," and, "I will NEVER stop loving you." But other instances such as, "You never take out the trash," or, "You always leave  clothes on the floor," not allowed.

The fact is that those words rarely apply to any situation, especially in our house. While we make messes, we often clean them up. While we can be a little lax in our chores, we eventually get them done.

Today's word is John 11:26, NKJV, which reads, "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die."

Yesterday marked the seventh anniversary of my Pops going to Heaven, and I still miss him every day. I don't think there will ever be a day that I don't miss him. I will always love him and he is never coming back to this world. But...

I will see him again, in Heaven. I know that one day, because of the gracious gift of salvation through JESUS CHRIST, I will live with my SAVIOR for always. There are few times that "always" and "never" apply, but, they are never more concrete than when we talk about JESUS. He will always love us and never leave us.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Just Ask Him

You probably don't have this problem but I have messes up - A LOT. And, when I mess up, which happens frequently, no one has to remind me that I have messed up. I know.

When you make a mistake, especially a moral or ethical or spiritual one, the weight is so heavy, you have no doubt that you have messed up. I know that when I have sinned, the conviction from the Holy Spirit is so quick and so heavy that I don't have to have anyone point it out for me.

Today's word is John 8:11, NKJV, which reads, "She said, 'No one, LORD.' And JESUS said to her, 'Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.'"

The lady in today's story had been caught in the very act of adultery. Whether she knew that was spiritually wrong or not, we don't know. Those who brought her to JESUS, though, knew the law and condemned her to die. She had messed up. But...

But, JESUS began to show her the sin she was condemned for and she was convicted by her sin. But, so were all those condemning her. Finally, JESUS asked her where her accusers were, and they were all gone, as JESUS had concicted them. Then, He freed her by telling her that neither did He condemn her. However, she couldn't go back living in sin - she was to go and sin no more.

JESUS is waiting to forgive - just ask Him

Selflessness

Today is my Pops' birthday. He is in Heaven so we don't get to celebrate it with him but I celebrate him. Pops passed away almost seven (7) years ago, and I still miss him every day.

When I think I of my Pops, a lot of things come to mind. He was a hard worker, a devoted husband and father, a hot head at times, an ornery ol' cuss, and the most selfless person I can ever remember. He would give you whatever he had, if you needed it.

Today's word is a quote I came across some time ago that simply says, "True love is selfless. It is always prepared to sacrifice."

I have mentioned before that we taught a youth lesson several years ago that true love is about giving: giving of yourself to another. If someone is always wanting from you, that is not true love. True love is when someone is willing to sacrifice for you.

On Pops' birthday, today, I am reminded of the sacrifices he made for his family and his example of giving. I love you Pops. Thank you for showing me true love and for being the example of selflessness.

Whatever He says

Do you always do what you are told? I mean, would you consider yourself an obedient person? I like to think of myself as obedient and respectful and a rule follower, but, I haven't and don't always obey.

There have been numerous times, too many to count, that I know I have disobeyed the LORD (sinned). Sometimes, it was out of defiance; sometimes, out of ignorance; and, sometimes, out of pure stupidity. But, I know life would be so much easier and fullest if I'd just obey.

Today's word I'd John 2:5, NKJV, which reads, "His mother said to the servants, 'Whatever He says to you, do it.'"

JESUS was at a wedding and the wine had run out. His mother had asked Him to fix it, and JESUS performed His first recorded miracle, which was turning water to wine. He did as His mother asked, but, more important, the servants heeded Mary's advice and obeyed JESUS.

Wouldn't life be more full and less burdensome if we would heed the advice to do what He says? I know my life would be much easier. I am going to strive to follow the advice of doing whatever He says.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

As i choose

Do you ever have those days that it feels like you are far away from GOD? It's like there is a great chasm that is separating you, or there is just a great distance that seems between you. I think we all experience that feeling from time to time.

Sometimes, that distance is just life; we live in a really busy world that only seems to get busier everyday. Sometimes, there are just other distractions that gets our attention. Whatever the reason, though, the truth is that we are as close to GOD as we want to be.

Today's word is James 4:8a, NKJV, which reads, "Draw near to GOD and He will draw near to you..."

We all have distractions and life is coming around us at warp speed, but, we usually find time to do the things we really want to do. I am talking to me. We find the time to watch TV, surf the web, check our status, etc., but, what if we spent just as much time drawing near to GOD?

When things have been really hectic and I haven't had a lot of time with Trish, I purposely make time. When I am feeling distant from GOD, I need to make time to be with Him. Because, as hard as it is to admit, I know that I can be as close to GOD as I choose.

Be Blessed,

Just Watching

I try to remind our kids, and thereby remind myself, that others are watching. We have to try to be leaders and lead by example. We also have to be what we claim we are, and use everything we do to glorify GOD.

It is also a good reminder to watch others. I have learned a lot from just watching people: how they respond to situations; how they treat those who cannot benefit them in any way; how they treat those that they supposedly love.

Today's word is just a simple saying that goes, "You can observe a lot by just watching."

The old saying is that GOD gave us two (2) eyes, two (2) ears, and one (1) mouth because we should watch and listen twice as much as we talk. If we just watch people, we can learn a lot.

When others watch you what do they see? That is a question I need to ask myself often and honestly. I want them to see that I am a fallen human being but JESUS makes me different. I want them to see that everything I do is influenced by my relationship with Him. I hope others can observe a lot by just watching.

Be Blessed,

Mickey T

Completely Satisfy

I've heard others say, and I have said myself, "I am starved to death." Which, thankfully is untrue and a complete exaggeration. I am grateful that GOD has allowed me to never experience something so drastic.

I am also grateful that He has allowed me to feel hunger pangs. The feeling of being hungry reminds me that I need to eat and nourish my body. Do you ever feel spiritually hungry?

Today's word is John 6:35, NKJV, which reads, "And JESUS said to them, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger; and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."

We often experience spiritual hunger pangs, too. I get concerned if I don't. I want to know more and more about my JESUS. And, the only way to learn more about someone you love is by spending time with them. We're learn more about JESUS through His word and through taking with Him and music and conversation and so much more.

If you are hungry, you have to eat. If you are feeling spiritually malnourished, you have to eat. Let's get full from the only One that can completely satisfy.

His good purpose

I was speaking to someone the other day about finding GOD'S will for our lives. I am a guy that got saved young and took a fairly long and undisciplined path before finally realizing what GOD had called me to do. When I finally discovered His will for my life, it was really about as simple as could be. And, that is good because, I am a truly simple man.

GOD has a plan for us all, individually, which only we, individually, can fulfill. Your calling can't be fulfilled by me, and vice versa. However, we all have a common call, in my opinion, and that is to be faithful.

Today's word is Philippians 2:13, NIV, which reads, "For it is GOD Who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose."

I finally figured out that what GOD really wanted from me was to be faithful to allow Him to use me in whatever way He can. With me, He doesn't have much to work with. But, if I will allow Him, He can still accomplish His will, even through someone like me.

I don't know about you, but, I just wanted to be useful to my LORD. I want Him to be able to use me in whatever way He desires, in order to fulfill His good purpose.

Planted

I like the dark, in general. I like a really dark bedroom for sleeping, I like the calmness of evening, I like the coolness of evening; I just sort of like the dark.

Some people are afraid of the dark, and that is completely understandable. It is hard to know what is going in when everything around you is pitch black darkness. Our minds can begin playing tricks on us.

Today's word is a quote from Christine Caine that says, "Sometimes,  when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but actually you've been planted."

It is difficult when we find ourselves in a dark place but today's word gives us perspective; we may just bet planted. You can't grow if you're not planted.

The dark can be a mysterious place for some, and a calm for others. I am going to try to remember that, maybe, I've just been planted.

He will save us

So, yesterday I let off a little steam about a very unstable person that goes around telling things that are absolutely, 100 percent untrue. It is frustrating and infuriating when others tell things that aren't true to try and damage you.

I've been thinking, though, that if GOD is for me, who dare be against me. And, "vengeance is Mine, saith the LORD." It is comforting to know that our LORD is own our side, fighting our battles.

Today's word reminds of exactly that; Isaiah 33:22, KJV, reads, "For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us."

We can rest assured and confident that GOD is with us, working all things for our good, even when we don't know why others are doing what they are doing. We can be confident that GOD sees it, He knows it, and He will fix it.

If you all have something going on in your lives where it feels as if you have no control, know that GOD is with you. He is the Judge, the Lawgiver, the King; and, He will save us.

Don't be surprised!

Have you ever had someone spread a lie about you? I mean an absolute, 100%, bald-faced, completely and total fabrication? There is not one (1) single shred of truth in it, except my name, and yet they tell it as factual truth.

I had it come up again this weekend; someone asked me about this lie that someone has tried to perpetrate. Of course, the person asking ways, "I knew it wasn't true." Yet, they asked because someone had made up a lie.

Why do people lie on others? Why do people try to purposely and maliciously try to tear others down? Why are others willing to destroy someone with a total fabrication that they formulate in his/her own sadistic, evil mind? Most os the time, it is jealousy and envy.

Today's word is 2 Timothy 3:12, NKJV, which reads, "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in CHRIST JESUS will suffer persecution."

We need not find it unusual that others lie on us and about us. We need not be surprised that others will try to tear us down. We need not be astonished that others will make false accusations and fabricate complete lies to try and destroy us. They did it to JESUS. And, if we try to serve Him, they will do it to us. Don't be surprised!

Do what's right

People often ask me if my being a Christuan prohibits me from doing certain things, and it is usually something that I feel is a sin or would be detrimental to my testimony. Now, unfortunately, I sin every day. Again, something I am not proud of but will not deny.

The point, though, is the Bible is very clear on what sin is in specific areas: murder, fornication, adultery, drunkenness, lying, etc. But, there are other things that aren't specifically called sins in the Bible but I know I shouldn't do them.

Today's word is 1 Corinthians 10:23, NKJV, which reads, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify."

One of Lankford's Laws states, "Just because you have a right doesn't make it right." There are things that in certain parts of this state, this country, this world that are "legal" but there aren't right to do.

Ask yourself, "Is what I am doing going to build me up, someone else up, GOD'S Kingdom up, or is it going to tear someone down?" If the answer is that it tears someone down, that shouldn't be done - we edify (build up). Things may be "legal"; let's do what's right.

Looking for eternity

It is starting to feel a little like we are changing seasons, which is really nice. We're in an area that summers are hot and humid. We haven't had much of a fall the last few years but it is feeling as if we may.

Seasons come and go. Usually, if you aren't fond of the weather, just stick around for a little while, it'll change. Changing seasons also reminds me that we have to be diligent in our lives or satan will try to lure us into something we shouldn't be in.

Today's word is Hebrews 11:25, KJV, which reads, "Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of GOD, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season."

Today's word is reminding us that Moses, who was raised by Pharaoh's daughter, ultimately chose GOD over living the life of royalty. Why? Because, Moses knew that the momentary pleasures that came with being Pharaoh's grandson were nothing compared with eternity in Heaven with the King of kings and the LORD of lords.

Seasons come and seasons go. But, the seasons of life are far more important. Instead of focusing on the momentary, fleeting pleasures of sin, I want to live my life for GOD, looking towards eternity.

Set the Example

We all have people that look up to us. We may not want it, we may not ask for it, we may not know it, but they do. I remind our little ones of this fact as well; though they are young, there are others looking up to them.

People watch us, all the time. They watch how we act, how we respond in situations, how we interact with others and about others. I try to he mindful of this and still fail. However, just because I fail, doesn't mean I shouldn't try.

Today's word is 1 Timothy 4:12, ESV, which reads, "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."

Even when we are young, we can set a good example for others to follow. I like how Paul listed the areas, in which to set the example: in speech - watch what you say; in love - we love GOD and love people; in faith - we are strong even in bad times; in purity - we do what is right and righteous.

Others are watching us; we need to be the example. Please pray for me to set and to live the example for my family and for others. I want to set the example.

GOD loves you

GOD loves you. It is a simple phrase that I want everyone to know, understand, and remember. We can't earn it, we don't deserve it, we can't change it - GOD loves us. We need to remember that every day of our lives.

And, if GOD loves us, we should love others. The Bible tells us that GOD is love. So, if GOD lives in  us, we should display His love to others.

Today's word is 1 John 4:16, NLT, which reads, "We know how much GOD loves us, and we have put our trust in His love. GOD is love, and all who live in love live in GOD, and GOD lives in them."

If GOD can love me, someone who can be unlovable and unkind, shouldn't I love others? Yes, others hurt us and are unkind and selfish to us, just as we are to GOD, yet He loves us. If GOD lives in us, so does love.

Love is a powerful thing. It can melt the heart of stone. It can strengthen the weak and make the strongest weep. It gives us a feeling that can't be explained. Don't ever forget that GOD loves you!

Exceedingly Abundantly

Have you ever had a situation that you didn't think there was any way it could possibly work out, much less work out good, then, see it work out better than you ever could have imagined? That, my friend, is GOD, and He does it all the time.

I have seen GOD do things in my life that only He could do. I have seen Him work out solutions to problems that I thought were unsolvable. I have seen Him do more than I ever thought possible, and certainly more than I ever deserved. He does that, you know.

Today's word is Ephesians 3:20, NKJV, which reads, "Now to Him Who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think..."

GOD can do anything and everything; far more than we could ever think or imagine. He can make the most complicated situation look like nothing and can bring solutions to the stickiest problems, and make it all work out better than our finite minds could have ever thought possible.

Got a sticky situation going on? Got a difficult problem that seems unsolvable? Give it to GOD! He is able to do exceedingly abundantly.

Start Again

I have shared with folks at work that I like Mondays. Now, Monday may not be my favorite work day of the week, but, I do like Monday. Why, you may ask? Well, because Monday gives me a chance to correct mistakes I made last week.

You may never make mistakes; I seem to make them consistently and constantly. Not on purpose but I make them. As I heard years ago, and repeat often, show someone who doesn't make a mistake and I will show you someone who does nothing.

Today's word is a simple quote that goes, "Every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath, smile, and start again."

We all make mistakes but we can't let those mistakes define us or paralyze us. We have to apologize where necessary, pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and press forward with the intention of completing the task and not making the same mistake.

We all make mistakes, it is universal. We are all going to make big blunders and major errors, but, today is a good day to start again.

Measuring Stick

I don't know about you, but, I find it pretty easy to point out the failures and shortcomings of others. I mean, they have so many, and they are blatantly obvious.

Oh, my shortcomings...do I have shortcomings and failures? I have far more than anyone else I know. If you started trying to list each of my sins, my failures, my lacks, my shortcomings, you would be listing from here to eternity.

Today's word is 2 Corinthians 1012b, NLT, which reminds us of Whom we need to compare ourselves: "...But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!"

It is easy to find other people's failures and to point them out. But, we don't like looking in the mirror and seeing our own. We don't like when others call out ours. We don't like when we see ourselves the way we should - compared to JESUS.

When I read today's verse it reminds me that I don't have time to point out other's sins, I need to ask forgiveness for and to correct mine. I begin to see this more clearly when I start using the right Measuring Stick.

Press on

While I am not the best at anything, and very mediocre at most things, I have had the blessing of being a part of great things. I have seen people overcome and persevere. I have seen others step up when it seemed hopeless.

For all the things I am not, I believe most would tell you that I am not a quitter. I will do all I can to see the mission through. I want to be that example for my family - the one who presses on and doesn't give up, especially in my Christian walk.

Today's word is Roman's 12:11, NIV, which reads, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the LORD."

We will all have times when we are tired and want to let our guards down; we have all done it. It is at this time that the enemy wants to swoop in and take us out. It is at this time that the enemy wants to shut us down completely. Don't let him.

I want to finish the fight. I want to be found faithful. I want to press on!

He does

My kids, like everyone else's I'm sure, will ask questions that I don't have answers for. I try to research and find the answers for them, yet, there are still things they ask that I cannot give them an answer, mostly about how GOD works.

What I can tell them is that GOD loves us and delights in us and made us in His image. He loved us enough to die for us and has prepared a place in His house for us. He really does love us!

Today's word is Job 33:4, NKJV, which reads, "The Spirit of GOD has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life."

Job reminds us that it is GOD, Himself, that has made us. Have you ever made anything? It takes time and patience and love and care to make something you truly love. And, we know GOD loves us because He breathed life into us.

Yeah, there are lots of things that I don't know, and never will. But, I do know that GOD loves es me and cares for me. I know that He has made me, and while others may no ot find the beauty in my creation, He does.

His mighty power

Ever feel like you can't go another step, can't find it in you to go any further? We all have those moments when this world beats us down and wears us out. We all have those moments when we want to sit down and do nothing, and that is what satan wants.

When we move closer to the LORD, and strive to do His will and His work, satan will unleash an attack of epic proportions. Why? Because, he doesn't like GOD'S children, especially when they are doing Hos work. But, we don't fight alone.

Today's word is Ephesians 6:10, NIV, which reads, "Finally, be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power."

Paul had just finished telling the Ephesians to put on the whole armor of GOD. GOD has given us the tools and equipment to fight the good fight but we have to put them on and utilize them. We can't fight satan alone, and we don't have to.

We are in a battle; a true battle of good versus evil. If we will draw closer to GOD and use the equipment He has given us, we will be successful. We can find that we can be strong in Him and in His mighty power.

He stands with us

Have you ever felt alone? Have you ever had a moment where you had to stand for something, and it felt you were standing alone? Have you ever been through something when it felt as if you were all alone?

I think we have all faced one or more of the scenarios. We have all had moments when it felt as if we were fighting the fight all but ourself. But, as GOD'S children, we can be confident that we are never alone.

Today's word is 2 Timothy 4:17a, NIV, which reads, "But the LORD stood with me and gave me strength..."

When we are faced with difficulties and challenges, we can rest assured that GOD is with us. We may be able to sense His presence better when we are standing on the mountaintop, but, He is just as close in our valleys.

When we are challenged and tired and lonely and desperate, He stands with us.

Stumbling Block

I make a lot of mistakes, more than I care to admit and more than I ever want to admit. I try to do the right things and behave the right way but, sometimes, I allow the flesh to get angry or I say something I shouldn't. I make mistakes.

The youth asked me one (1) night if drinking would send you to hell. I told them that the Bible is very clear that strong drink is to be avoided and that drunkards, those who take it to excess, are not right with GOD (there is a long list of those that won't make it to Heaven). But, I don't drink for a specific reason...

Today's word is 1 Corinthians 10:32, NIV, which reads, "Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of GOD."

We are not to be the reason so.eone else commits sin. We may see something as okay to do but, if others are not if age or can't control their desires, our doing something may lead them into sin. Don't do it.

I make a lot of mistakes. I want to be better. I strive to be better. I want to be obedient and useful for GOD. I don't want to be anyone's stumbling block.

GOD'S Demonstration

Have you ever watched a demonstration, an exhibition of how something works or the proof that something is real. We demonstrate things every single day: what we truly believe, whom we love, what we care about, etc.

We demonstrate what we believe by how we live. We follow a certain set of rules, whether we admit it or not, just in the way that we live. We demonstrate our love for another by how we treat them, what we do for them, the priority that we give them. GOD proved His love for us.

Today's word is Roman's 5:8, NKJV, which reads, "But GOD demonstrates His Own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST died for us."

You want to know how to know GOD loves you? Because, CHRIST died for us, made a way for us, redeemed us, when we were still at our worst. On the cross, JESUS prayed that the very people guilty of His crucifixion be forgiven; that is love.

If you ever find yourself wondering if anyone truly loves you; He does. If you ever wonder if anyone truly cares about you; He does. If you ever wonder if anyone wants a relationship with you; He does. All you have to do is think about GOD'S Demonstration.

Little Things

It has been a couple of days since posting. The laptop I normally use in the mornings top get online and do things took a bath in apple juice the other morning. And, apparently, that is not good for a laptop.

On that laptop, we have a LOT of pictures and documents and such, some of which I have backed up, some I haven't. When it happened, I wanted to be upset; it seemed avoidable. However, I saw how bad my child felt and I wanted to comfort and assure him/her.

Today's word is a quote that I try to follow. I don't always, but I try. It simply says, "Don't let the stupid little things ruin your day."

Yeah, we may have lost a few things on the laptop, not because of apple juice but because I haven't backed it up recently. But, nobody was hurt and we have learned a valuable lesson about having drinks around electronics.

Life is short, and things are going to happen. We will have things ruined by inadvertent accidents but we don't have to have our day, or our life, ruined by the little things.

The Good of Others

It is pretty easy to get wrapped up in yourself from time to time. I know that I sure can. I have shared with others that one (1) of the biggest things having children has taught me is how selfish I used to be.

Before our kids came to us it was "my time", "my plans", "my whatever", but, once you have kids, you focus on them, or you should. No, they shouldn't take away from your relationship with your mate, but, you shouldn't think about "you" as much.

Today's word is 1 Corinthians 10:24, NIV, which reads, "No one should seek their own good, but the good of others."

We should, as Christians, have an outward focus. Yes, we should have an inward look to see where we are and why we do what we do but we should look outwardly to find the ministry opportunities that GOD gives us. We should look to see how GOD wants us to use what He has given us to help others.

GOD has blessed us all more than we probably ever thought; eternity in Heaven is something I certainly didn't deserve. His desire is for us to shate those blessings for the good of others.

He has us

Today is the first day of school. Our kids have been out of school for about five (5) months now due to COVID-19, but, today begins the new school year. We have one (1) that is excited to be going back and one (1) that is not so excited to be going back.

I am sure that our kids and Trish and I are like many others; there is a lot of concern and caution in the mix. We are certainly aware of the challenges that the normal school year brings, and this one (1) will have a set that has yet to be seen. But, we know GOD has us.

Today's word is Psalm 94:19, NIV, which reads, "When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy."

We can look back at all the times GOD has seen us through difficulties and challenges. We can remember His goodness and His grace through previous unknowns and uncertainties. And, we can gain great comfort and encouragement from remembering how He worked then, because, we know He will do it again.

There will be challenges and concerns and difficulties but GOD will never leave us nor forsake us. There has never been a time that He wasn't there, and there never will. We can move forward with confidence knowing that GOD has us.

Be Blessed,

GOD Comforts

My mind, this morning, is on those who are going through difficult times, the lose of a loved one. Please know that you are in our prayers.

Losing someone to death is easier when you know you will see them again in Heaven, but, it isn't easy. You miss them every single day, some more than others.

Today's word is Matthew 5:4, NLT, which reads, "GOD blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

In the midst of our mourning, GOD sends comfort as only He can. I can't explain His comfort but I can tell you that I have experienced and felt it. GOD'S comfort is much like His peace that passes all understanding.

In this life we will experience the pain of loss. We will have to navigate through the difficulties and trials. We will have to endure unimaginable pain and heartache. But, we have a Father and a SAVIOR that has been through it all, and He comforts.

Peacemakers

While I am not always good at it, I am a peacemaker. I would venture to say that I try to find solutions for most any and all problems. I look for compromise, when compromise doesn't compromise integrity or ethics. Peacemakers are rare.

Again, I don't claim to be an expert or overly prolific, but, I do like to see things come to a peaceful resolution. There is something special about being able to bring two (2) parties together.

Today's word is James 3:18, NIV, which reads, "Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."

Many people in this world today look for any reason and any way to disrupt and destroy peace. Why, I don't know. I know that my life feels a lot more restful and fulfilling and contented when it is peaceful.

Let's look for ways to try and bring peace. There will always be those who oppose it and do everything to disrupt it, BUT, peace is worth it. Be a peacemaker.

Found Faithful

There was a guy in the Bible named Enoch that has as good of a testimony as anyone you will ever read about. He was the son of Jared and the father of Methuselah. His name was Enoch.

You want find much written about Enoch except what the lineage we have already discussed. But, there is one (1) additional statement that tells us all we need to know about him, and what we need to ask ourselves.

Today's word is Genesis 5:24, NIV, which reads, "Enoch walked faithfully with GOD; then he was no more, because GOD took him away."

What a testimony! Enoch walked faithfully with GOD. I wish that was my testimony but I have failed in my walk from time to time. However, it is something to strive for- faithfully walking with GOD. I want to be found faithful.

The Latest

In my life, I have seen a lot of people who were always preoccupied with the "latest". It could be the latest fad, the latest health kick, the latest electronics, the latest waffle maker; they were just always wrapped up in the latest.

There is nothing wrong with the latest, unless it keeps us from moving forward. I know, that sounds contradictory, right? If we have the latest, aren't we ahead of the pack? Great question...

Today's word is Acts 17:21, NKJV, which reads, "For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing."

There is nothing wrong with the latest, unless it distracts you from the One Real Thing, or if it keeps you from focusing on Him. It is easy to get wrapped up in the "latest and greatest" and miss out on the One and Only.

Lots of folks out there that will "preach" a false religion and lead folks away because it sounds new and fresh. BUT, GOD made it simple - by grace through faith in JESUS CHRIST. That's the original, and the latest.

Monday

It is Monday, the start of another week. For some, Mondays are a cruel reminder that another weekend has come and gone. For others, Monday is a fresh start, a chance to make up for some things that may have been lacking last week.

Whatever your thoughts and feelings are for Mondays is probably just a matter of perspective. I am grateful for another day; to be able to get up and get at it. Now, weekends are great (we somehow need to develop a longer weekend) but, so is the work week.

Today's word is Psalm 118:24, NKJV, which reads, "This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."

When we enjoy each day as the gift that it is, it is easy to rejoice in the mere fact that we ha e another day. Yes, bad things will happen. Yes, folks will purposefully and willfully get on our nerves. Yes, it will be tiring and trying. BUT, we get to live it. What a blessing!

Alright, maybe I am a little over the top, especially for a Monday. However, I am grateful for another day on this earth. Look out Monday, here we come!

Everything

If you are around me very long, you will probably hear me say something like, "It's not my office, it is just the one (1) I use," or something of that nature. All I mean by that is that I don't own the office; I am not taking it with me when I leave.

I have come to realize that there is very little I "own" in this world. Everything here is temporarily mine to see to and love. The old question is, "Do you know what you leave behind when you die?"

Today's word is Psalm 24:1, KJV, which reads, "The earth is the LORD'S and the fulness thereof; the world and they that dwell in it."

There aren't a lot of things in this world that we own (we should be laying our treasures up in Heaven), but, GOD allows us to use things and have things while we are here. It all belongs to Him, and I should work harder at taking care of it.

As I look around and see all that GOD has allowed me to have and enjoy, I am humbled and amazed. He has everything, and He has allowed me to enjoy the best parts. And, the answer to the question,,,everything, we leave everything.

Don't Be Confused

The Bible reminds us that simple things often confuse the wise. I am not a very wise nor intelligent person so a lot of things can confuse me. Things like why we continue to fall back into bad patterns that were know are harmful to us. Or, why we don't do the things that are good for us. Very confusing.

One thing I am not confused about, though, is my salvation. It has nothing to do with me or my actions, other than the fact that I have accepted CHRIST as my SAVIOR. It truly is by grace through faith, nothing else.

Today's word is Galatians 3:26, NLT, which reads, "For you are all children of GOD through faith in CHRIST JESUS."

GOD has made being adopted into His family really simple. He has chosen us all; we just have to choose to accept Him. To me, that seems as simple as it comes. To others, however, it seems too difficult. Don't allow your intelligence to confuse your common sense.

There will be things in this life that never make sense, LOTS of them. But, GOD has made redemption very simple. Don't let satan confuse you.

He will send the light

A lot of people are afraid of the dark. I know children don't like going down a dark hall or walking into a dark room; they ate afraid of the unknown, what might be there that they can't see.

As we get older, we usually lose that fear of waking in the dark but we still have the fear of the unknown, of what might be lurking where we can't see. We wander around hoping, praying that our worst imaginations don't come true. We don't seem to know where to go nor how to get there.

Today's word is Psalm 18:28, ESV, which reads, "For it is You Who light my lamp; the LORD my GOD lightens my darkness."

It's easy to get lost in the darkness, in the unknown, but, GOD is our light; He will show us the path, the way. When we feel the most lost and the most vulnerable, He will shed light on our circumstances and situations.

Feeling lost? Don't know where to go nor how to get there? We all do from time to time. Trust GOD. He will send the light.

We Work

I grew up in a family that worked. My Pops and Momma had seven (7) kids, and they worked. When you have a big family there is something for everyone to do. There is plenty for everyone to do.

We would garden, big gardens, every year to help supplement our food, which was hard work but very nutritious. We would cut and chop wood, do most any odd job, all while my parents worked full time. We worked.

Today's word is Proverbs 14:23, NIV, which reads, "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."

We are trying to teach our kids about the benefits of hard work, whether it be in the classroom, in gymnastics, on the sports field, or in the yard. You will get out of it what you put into it. If you work hard, you will see the benefits; if not, you will see the results.

The same is true in our spiritual lives, too. The more work we put into learning and putting our faith to work, the more we will see growth and benefits. I am not afraid to work. I want to set the example. I want our kids to know that we work.

Tell it to JESUS

Sometimes, there is nothing like getting it off your chest. We all have things that we just need to get said, things that, once said, will bring us relief. How about sin?

I don't admit this boasting or bragging but I sin every day. I would like to say that I don't but that would be a complete lie. The weight of sin is heavy. It can be crippling and paralyzing.

Today's word is Acts 3:19, NIV, which reads, "Repent, then, and turn to GOD, so that your sins may be wiped out,  that times of refreshing may come from the LORD."

Nothing can lift the weight of sin but confession. And, not confession to me or any other human - confession to GOD. We have to confess our sins to Him because, it is GOD that we have sinned against. Yes, first we make it right with those we have done wrong, then, we confess to GOD. Than, look at what happens.

"...times of refreshing come..." Nothing cleanses and refreshes our soul like confession. Nothing. Got something you want to get off your chest? Tell it to JESUS.

Tell it

As you have probably noted, I read a lot in Psalms. Now, I read a lot in the rest of the Bible, too. However, each night, at bed time, I read with our son, and he chooses Psalms. What a blessing - my family, and their desire to read GOD'S Word.

I have said before that I have been blessed beyond anything I could have ever imagined. And, I know each blessing comes from above. I sing His praises always.

Today's word is Psalm 9:!, NKJV, which reads, "I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart I will tell of all Your marvelous works."

GOD has given me so much and has done so much for me, I can't help but share His goodness with others. It is hard not to tell of His marvelous works in my life, impossible really. When something that unbelievable happens, you have to tell.

Has GOD been good to you? Can you see His work in your life? Have you seen the evidence of His goodness? Then, with your whole heart, tell it.

What it should

Ever have those times when you feel as if your prayers aren't being heard? I think we have all experienced times when it felt as if GOD wasn't listening,  or, if He was, He wasn't responding.

Sometimes, life just has a way with putting a lot on us. It seems as if we only take another step just to fall into another situation. But, trust me, GOD sees and He hears.

Today's word is Psalm 6:9, NLT, which reads, "The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD will answer my prayer."

Even when it doesn't feel like it, GOD is listening and will answer all our prayers. Sometimes, the delay is necessary because He is still letting something else fall into place. Sometimes, it's because our request isn't in our best interest nor in His plan for our lives. But, rest assured He will answer.

We can be certain that GOD always hears our prayers and He will always answer each and every one. And, when He does, it'll be exactly what it should.

Kindness

It is something we try to teach our children, something we can all do a little better. It is something that doesn't cost us anything, yet, can five us more than we could ever imagine. What is it? Kindness.

Kindness is something we can give others even when we are as broke as they come. Kindness is something we can give others, even when we feel broken. And, again, when we show others kindness, we receive even more.

Today's word is Proverbs 19:17, BSB, reads, "Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will repay the lender."

When we are kind and generous to t hi use who need it most and can repay it least, GOD sees, and He desires to repay us. And, I don't know about you, but, He has given me so much more than I could have ever dreamed.

Look, as we all know, this world can take a severe toll on us all. We all need a little boost, a little shot in the arm from time to time. So do those we come across. Let's try to show so.e kindness.

At the Right Time

Our two (2) kids have been wanting something to happen that, thus far, has just not happened. I won't go into details; just suffice it to say that they have been wanting something that just doesn't seem to be in the cards.

I try to remind them, reminding myself also, that everything works according to GOD'S will, and in His time. I am not a very patient person but they are right (8) and seven (7), so, patience isn't even in their vocabulary.

Today's word is Isaiah 60:22b, NLT, which reads, "...At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen."

GOD was relaying to Isaiah the future glory for Zion. They were going to be devastated and all but destroyed, all for their own sins and transgressions, BUT, one day, GOD was going to bring Israel back. One day.

If you're like our children, like me, like most everyone else, you, too, have something that you are wanting, something you're anticipating, something you've been waiting on, and it just doesn't seem to happen. Let today's page remind us that GOD has a plan, and the right things will come, At the Right Time.

Sing His Praise

I think we can all probably agree that we have a lot to be grateful for. I have more than I ever could have imagined growing up: a beautiful, godly wife, great and healthy kids, a house, vehicles, good health, etc. A LOT.

But, let me say that GOD has allowed me these blessings to enjoy; there's nothing I did to merit them or deserve them. And, I think we're all blessed far more than we acknowledge.

Today's word is Psalm 13:6, NLT, which reads, "I will sing to the LORD because He is good to me."

Has GOD been good to you? If He has, then, sing His praises, to Him and to others. We lift our praise to Him in worship. We lift our praise before others to encourage them. We have a lot to sing praises about - sing them.

As I ho about my day, I want to be mindful of all the blessings I have, including being able to go about my day. Sing His Praise.

Go Vote

It is an election year in our country and county. I have shared before that we are blessed to live in a country that allows us the freedom to participate in elections. And, we should never take that for granted.

Being allowed the privilege to vote is something that citizens in other countries are still fighting for, and some will never get. Take advantage and enjoy the privilege. Also, pray for GOD to direct your vote; we want to elect the right person(s).

Today's word is Exra 8:18, NKJV, which reads, "Then, by the good hand of our GOD upon us, they brought us a man of understanding..."

We, as Christians, need to pray for GOD'S discernment to help us find people that are going to be wise and moral and understanding of all issues. Then, we're need to go to the polls and elect those candidates.

Elections are tough. It often seems as if we are tasked with choosing the least evil of the two (2) lessers. But, GOD will guide us to the less evil, if we ask Him. Then, go vote.

Be Blessed,

Day of Conversation

I am a talker. Born into a family of talkers, and have fit in nicely. Also, a middle child, so, to be heard, I talked. As I have mentioned before, I don't necessarily even need to know the subject, I will just talk.

Now, I am not bragging about being a talker. As a matter of fact, I am absolutely sure that my talking gets on others' nerves. And, a lot of time, I am just expending hot air.

Today's word is Psalm 27:8, and I am using the NLT version because, I like how it reads: "My heart has heard You say, 'Come and talk with Me.' And my heart responds, 'LORD, I am coming.'"

Our Heavenly Father wants to talk to us. We are His children and He wants to spend time with us. I have to ask myself if I talk to Him as much as I just talk about useless stuff. More than anything, though, is am I have good conversation with my LORD?

We probably all have a lot to say, I know I sure seem to. But, are we spending time talking to the One that really wants to hear and can answer in ways unimaginable? Let today be a day of conversation.

Time to start

Is there something that you want to do but you don't know where or how to start? I think we all have those things, those desires, those projects, those goals. But, we don't know how to begin, so, we don't.

Today's word is a quote from Zig Ziglar that simply says, "You don't have to be great to start but you have to start to be great."

We never get better at anything if we never begin. We will never become what we want to be, if we don't change who we are. Anything worth accomplishing is worth working for. And, the work begins one step at a time.

Got something you want to do? Something you want to change? Something you want to master? In order to get great, you have to start.

And, you, too

If you know me, toy know that I have a lot of sayings. A LOT. Some are good, some are corny, some are just silly. One of my sayings, though, is, "Be nicer to folks than you have to be; you never know what someone is going through."

Sort of following along yesterday's thought, there are lots of hurting people that need a kind word. As my mother taught me as a child, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Today's word is Proverbs 12:25, NLT, which reads, "Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up."

Worry is one of those weights that were often carry that does more harm than we will ever realize: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Yet, we can't seem to stop ourselves from doing it, which causes even more worry. And, everyone is probably worried or anxious about something, everyone. What can we do?

Well, don't add fuel to the fire. Try to lift someone up, try to ease anxiety. If you get the chance, and you just may, give someone an encouraging word. It just may cheer them up, and you, too.

Mickey T

Safely see us through

It has been a few days since the last post. We took a few days off and experienced some family time and a change of scenery. Nothing really overly impressive but time will spent.

During the past week, I've had a little thinking time while riding, traveling, relaxing about all the current happenings. We have certainly experienced some trying and unprecedented times. But, others before us had, too. What did they do?

Today's word is Psalm 73:26, NASB, and may provide an answer: "My flesh and my heart may fail, But GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

When we have the unsettling and trying and fear-filled times, when our hearts fail us, we know that GOD is with us and is seeing is through. Our flesh and our human heart may fear and fail but GOD will Rescue and Raise.

GOD is leading us through dark times as He did with the Israelites and David and Daniel and so many others. We can trust that where He is taking us is far better than where we are. We can trust that He has us in His hand and will safely see us through.

If we would use it

I have a very vivid and active imagination. I have shared before that what gets me in trouble, more often than not, are two (2) things: 1. The little voice in my head that says, "I wonder what would happen if...," and, 2. The other little voice that says, "Well, there's only one (1) way to find out."

Imagination is an amazing thing. It can turn a box into a train, a pair of socks into a football, a rainy day into an adventure. I can only imagine what it will be like to one (1) day see my JESUS!

Today's word is Ephesians 3:20, NLT, which reads, "Now all glory to GOD, Who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."

GOD is not limited by our thoughts; He isn't bound by our finite minds. He can do anything He wants, any way He wants. And, He wants to do more for us and through us than we could ever imagine, which, for me, is quite A LOT.

Don't be afraid to use your imagination, especially when it comes to GOD and His desires. He made us all with imagination; I wonder what we could do, and what He could do through us, if we would only use it.

Children

Last night, we had the blessing of watching our children play baseball. They did their very best, and had a lot of fun playing. I had even more fun watching.

I played sports A LOT growing up, and for many years in adulthood. And, I had a ton of fun playing. But, it is just a different kind of fun, a different level of enjoyment to watch your children. If you have children, I know you know what I mean.

Today's word is Psalm 127:3, NLT, which reads, "Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him."

To see the world through a child's eyes is a blessing that cannot be explained. To be able to watch a child grow and learn and explore is something that is amazing. We are so blessed to be the parents of our two (2), a blessing that I pray I never forget.

JESUS IS PEACE

No doubt, there is a lot of unrest in our world. You can hardly watch any television,  open any web browser, listen to any station without knowing of the troubles in our society. People are hurting and seeking.

People are concerned about the economy and personal finances. People are concerned about injustice and persecution. People are concerned about everything and everyone, and are trying to find peace. But, there is only One True Peace.

Today's word is John 16:33, KJV, which reads, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

The only real peace that we will ever have, that we will ever find, is in JESUS, our LORD and SAVIOR. You can search for it here but there will always be turmoil, and chaos, and confusion, which all comes from satan.

There will be problems and tribulations in this world but we can find our peace in JESUS, Who has overcome this world. JESUS is PEACE!

Following His Plan

Have you ever wandered away? I was sharing with one of my nephews this weekend that we have all failed but GOD still has a plan for our lives. I told him that we get in trouble, we wander because we take our focus off GOD, and we all have.

The example I gave him was that, sometimes, GOD and I are walking along, I am on the right path, but, I look over to my right and I see something that looks "interesting ". So, I wander off the path to see what it is. I asked, "But, do you know where GOD is?"

Today's word is Romans 11:29, NKJV, which reads, "For the gifts and the calling of GOD are irrevocable."

When I wander off, GOD is still on the path that He wants me to follow. He hasn't moved and His plan for my life has not changed. His calling is irrevocable, it can not be changed.

Whatever you think you have done, wherever you have wandered, GOD is still right where you left Him, waiting for you to get back on the path. He has a plan for our lives, and there is nothing as fulfilling as following His plan.

Where do you want to go?

"So, where do you want to go," was the beginning of a long discussion between Trish and me recently. We were discussing a vacation, nothing extravagant, just a few days away.

Part of planning a vacation is traveling. How far are you willing to drive? How much time are you willing to spend getting there, and, especially getting back. Of course, some would love to take a month off and go  somewhere, which wouldn't be enough at your favorite place.

Today's word is Psalm 84:10a, NLT, which reads, "A single day in Your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else!"

David goes on in this verse to say that he would rather be a gatekeeper in GOD'S house than live the best life earth has to offer in the homes of the wicked. I, too, want to see JESUS, and spend eternity with Him. I don't know of anything or anywhere I would rather do or be.

There will be many folks that refuse GOD'S gift of salvation because they would rather have the temporary pleasures of living endlessly here. I want to see my SAVIOR. I want to try to do His good will here. I want to be of service to Him here. Then, one day, when the time is perfect, I want to go to live with Him. Where do you want to go?

Somebody is watching

There was a song in the 80s called, "Somebody's watching me", about how the performer had this feeling that someone was watching his every move. I am sure that, especially as young children, we had that eerie feeling from time to time as well.

Now, trust me, there were no monsters in the closet or under the bed; there were no strange creatures lurking at the edge of the property just waiting for is to take one (1) step closer. However, I think it is a perfectly normal feeling to feel as though someone is watching us. He is...

Today's word is Psalm 11:4, NIV, which reads, "The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; His eyes examine them."

We can think that what we are doing is secret, that the attitudes we have, the thoughts we have when someone disagrees with us after never seen,  BUT, they are. GOD sees everything we do and don't do, even the things we think are hidden internally.

I also know that GOD loves us and wants the very best for us. He isn't watching us in order to hit us with a bolt of lightning; He is watching us to help us grow, to teach us, and to protect us. He watches us because He loves us. Somebody is watching.

Let's Tell Them

When I injured myself several weeks ago, I shared with others that I know GOD has a plan. Now, He didn't knock me off the ladder, though, sometimes, I need a good shove. But, He can certainly use the opportunity to share His Gospel through this ordeal, IF I allow Him to work through me.

We live in a world, a society, where everything is about me, me, me. Hey, I'm there, too. But, as a Christian, I want others to see and know about Him. I wasn't too user every opportunity to tell others about my Savior, and how a relationship with Him will not only change his/her life, it'll change their eternity.

Today's word is 2 Timothy 4:2, NLT, which reads, "Preach the word of GOD. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. "

Whether things are going our way or not, we should try to be consistent with sharing the word of GOD. Will it be easy? No. Will we think about it when things are going bad? Probably not. But, we can try to be more consistent in our witness, especially me.

Things will happen from time to time that will cause us to want to withdraw and sulk. It's okay to do that for a few. Pray, request, let GOD wrap you in His arms and hold you for a while. Then, get out there and share His word. Others need to hear what GOD has done for us. Let's tell them!

We just have to live it

I have been known to say that I am full of good intentions; I just don't always follow through. We live in a busy world, and, sometimes, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day. But, I have also found that I usually find time to do the things that I really want to do.

I say all that as just a reminder that we don't have to do huge, gigantic, enormous things. We usually just need to show up, be present, make an effort. Sometimes, a simple text, phone call, or a card is all that is needed.

Today's word is Hebrews 4:12a, NKJV, which reads, "For the word of GOD is living and powerful..."

Like love, the word of GOD is an action verb; it should call us to do something, especially for others. It is true that the only Bible some folks will ever read may be me. I want them to see me displaying and living out what I believe.

And, the Word of GOD is powerful. If we would only follow the leadership of GOD, and do His will, I think we would be absolutely amazed at the power He would display through us to change us, to change others, to change our world. Not us, Him. But, the power is there, we just have to live it.

A quick Thank You

Okay, I still have a long ways to go in recovering from the injuries sustained from my fall on Good Friday, but I just wanted to give a short out to some folks who have really been a blessing.

Trish has had to do it all. She has had to do all the driving, all the doing, everything, for which I will never be able to say, "Thanks" enough. Our children have been a huge blessing, helping in any and every way possible, which blesses my heart tremendously.

We have had our church family and biological family step up and step in and do so much: providing meals, mowing the lawn, countless cards and encouragement, prayers, and so much more. With all that is going on, so many have found the time to help and bless us. Thank you.

And, of course, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, receptionists, my employer, my community family, and so many others have shown mercy and grace and poured out blessing after blessing. I will never be able to mention everyone but, please know that I remember each and every thing you all have done. There is still a long ways to go but you all have made the recovery so much more bearable! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

You all bring to mind a verse that I have used before but it epitomizes who you are and what you do. Colossians 3:23, NKJV, reads, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not to men."

My Hope

No doubt, we have had a lot to be concerned about lately. There is a lot of apprehension and confusion about where we are, and even more about where we are headed. Lots of uneasiness about basic needs being met, much less bigger things.

It can get a little overwhelming, if we allow ourselves to get caught up in all the "what ifs". There are certainly still far more questions than answers, and I am afraid that will remain the norm. However, I know the ANSWER...

Today's word is Psalm 31:24, NLT, which reads, "So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the LORD!"

As Christians, our Answer remains the same - GOD. We may not know what the future will hold, but, He is already there. He already knows the outcome of this situation, and all our concerns. We can be strong and courageous knowing He is working all things for the good of His children.

I have to remind myself from time to time, when things are hectic and crazy, that this didn't take GOD by surprise, He has it all under control, and it is in Him that I have my hope.

Where He has you

I had a friend that had gone through struggles with substance abuse and ended up going through rehab. Upon completing rehab, this friend told me one day that, since he had completed rehab, he felt as of he "deserved" a different wife, different job, different life. Hmm...

This friend felt that his transformation made him "better", which it had, and the "better" him deserved better. I told him that GOD certainly had big plans for him, and wanted the best for him, but, he really needed to ask GOD what He wanted.

Today's word is 1 Corinthians 7:20, NKJV, which reads, "Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called."

The Corinthians were coming to accept JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR, and, much like my friend, some were feeling that they needed to do something different to "prove" they were "worthy". What Paul was reminding them, and us, is that we aren't better because of anything we do; we are justified, "better" because of the Blood of JESUS.

GOD can use us exactly where He has us. He has a plan, and all He needs from us is our faithfulness, our willingness, and our obedience. GOD can use you where He has you.

Be Pleasing

Have you ever been guilty of saying something that you knew you shouldn't say? You know, those little words that everyone else said but you knew you shouldn't? I am sure most of us have.

Have you ever had thoughts that you knew were inappropriate, displeasing, maybe even unsettling? We know we shouldn't think it but we feel justified in some way; that we have a right to feel it and to think it. Again, I am sure that most of us have.

Today's word is Psalm 19:14, NKJV, which reads, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer."

Today's word is a great reminder for me that GOD is the silent listener to every conversation, even the ones that I think are completely enclosed in my head. He is always with me and hears every word I say and every that I have. If I will concentrate on Him more, I bet I will find myself saying inappropriate things less.

I know, it's hard sometimes. I am as guilty as anyone. But, I can't do it in my strength, and I don't have to. Today's word also reminds us that GOD is our strength; He will give us what we need to overcome whatever may be tripping us up. I want to be pleasing.

Make a joyful noise

Well, I am back among the living...it has been, at times, a very difficult week, but, GOD has seen fit to bring us through. Since my last post, I had ACL reconstruction surgery and meniscus repair in my left knee, which has had its ups and downs. But, by the grace of GOD and through the help of my family, we are stronger today.

If my fall from a ladder, and subsequent surgeries to repair my right foot and left knee, has taught me anything, it is that I have a GOD Who loves me, a family who loves and cares for me, a doctor that GOD has designed to fix me, friends that love and support me, and an overwhelming sense of humility that I don't deserve any of it.

First and foremost, it is all GOD. It is by Him and through Him that any and/or all of this has been accomplished. His grace and mercy reaches depths that cannot be explained. He has done exceedingly, abundantly more than I could have ever thought, dreamed, or imagined. He had already done that throughout my life but has shown even more through this.

So, I just want to send a shout out to my LORD! Psalm 66:1, KJV, reads, "Make a joyful noise unto GOD, all ye lands." Make a joyful noise!

Love is unlimited

Have you ever wondered how much someone loves you? I mean, I have said before that my parents must have really loved me. I know Trish really loves me. And, our children do right now. Love is a wonderful thing.

The neatest thing about love is that it is unlimited. You can't run out. You love your first child in a way that words cannot describe. You think there is no way you could love any other child that way. Then, you have a second child, and guess what? You love that child just as much. Love is unlimited.

Today's word reminds us how BIG GOD'S love is for us. Psalm 36:5, NIV, reads, "Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the skies."

GOD loves us all, exactly the same. He is our Father, Who loves us with a Father's love. And, we all know how a parent's love grows with each child. GOD isn't going to run out of love. Ever.

I am grateful that GOD showed His love to us by making a way, when we were still sinners, through His Son, JESUS. He loved us that much! And, He continues to love us even more. How? Because, love is unlimited!

Will Forever be

A question I get, and I am sure you have gotten as well, is, "Where did GOD come from?" Or, "How was GOD born?" Or, some variation of those.

It is hard for any of us, especially the young ones, to understand that GOD is eternal. He has always been and will always be. He didn't have to be created, He is the Creator. He created time and seasons for us; time is irrelevant to Him.

Today's word is Psalm 102:27, NKJV, which reads, "But You are the same, And Your years will have no end."

GOD also NEVER changes; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He doesn't age, He doesn't get feeble, He doesn't weaken - He is always the same. How? Because, He is GOD.

He is ALWAYS the same. The same as He was yesterday. The same today. And, He will be exactly the same tomorrow. We don't worship some aging, dying, ever-changing, moody, resentful GOD. No, we worship the One True GOD that never changes, has always been, and will forever be!

Choose GOD

I was explaining to someone over the weekend my decision-making process for making big purchases. I visualize the item I want to purchase sitting beside the stack of money that it costs. If I determine that this item that I think I HAVE to have is better than the money, I buy it, if not, I keep my money.

I have found in my life that we buy a lot of things that we don't really need. We're prone to buying things because we think they will add value to our lives, only to find out they are nothing more than clutter. However, when we do buy something that turns out to be invaluable to us, we hold on to it forever.

Today's word is Ephesians 1:7, NLT, which reads, "He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His son and forgave our sins."

GOD made a purchase decision that involved us and eternity. The only thing that was valuable enough to buy us back was His Son. The only thing that could make us righteous enough to be a part of His family was the blood of JESUS. GOD looked at the situation and determined that we were worth it! That is how much GOD loves you and wants a relationship with you!

We will all make big decisions in our lives: where we go to college, what we do as a career, whom we marry, etc. But, NO decision is as important as where we will spend eternity. Choose GOD!

Find Peace in That

There is no doubt a lot of uncertainty, a lot of anxiety, a lot of uneasiness with all that is going on in our world. To say that we're experiencing something unprecedented seems like a huge understatement. There seems to be reason to wonder if things will ever be the same.

Millions have lost jobs. Thousands have lost their lives. There are empty shelves at the supermarket, parks that sit vacant, everything had seemingly come to a pause, and rightfully so, but, it can all be a little disconcerting.

Today's word is Psalm 68:28, NIV, which reads, "Summon Your power, GOD; show us Your strength, our GOD, as You ha e done before."

GOD has not changed. None of this has caught Him by surprise. He still has it all under control. He is still all powerful, all knowing, and He is still working on things. He still listens to our prayers; pray for strength.

Things have been a little confusing and concerning, and may be this way for who knows how much longer. But, GOD, Who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we could ever think, dream, or imagine is with us. We can find peace in that.

Be Blessed,

Happy Birthday Momma

Today is my Mom's birthday. I won't tell her age, if she wants that known, she'll tell, but, I will say that I am so blessed to see my mom have another. I pray she has many, many more.

My mom has learned how to do so  much with very limited resources by raising seven kids. She has passed a lot along, too. She is a great cook, and she had taught many others how to cook. She has taught others how to do so many things to serve others, which she has displayed throughout her life.

Today's word is Proverbs 9:11, NLT, which reads, "Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. "

When we apply GOD'S wisdom to our lives, and not act on our own selfish, human desires, we will keep ourselves from doing things that could shorten our life. We will also do things that may prolong our life. Either way, we will live a life that is pleasing to GOD and its utterly fulfilling.

My Mom has dispensed wisdom and practical life lessons to others throughout her life. She is a blessing to me that I could never fully convey through words. Happy Birthday Momma!

Thank You

Long story short, I had a fall on Good Friday and sustained a few injuries, which are going to require some surgeries, some rehab, some pain, and some understanding (from others), which I have certainly received. Folks have been so kind and helpful since I hurt myself.

I won't try to list them all, there are far too many, and I will surely inadvertently omit some. Of course, my family, Trish and our kids, have been so loving and supportive. My coworkers have been so kind to do things for me and get things for me, and have offered so much more. Our church family has done so much, bringing meals and offering to do anything and everything. And, the list goes on and on. We are so blessed!

Today's word is one I have used before but seems appropriate. Proverbs 11:25, NIV, reads, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."

We have seen so much kindness from so many people, and I know that GOD is going to reward each of them for being so generous. We are more appreciative than words could ever describe! Thank you for being obedient to GOD and for blessing us so much! Our prayer is that each of you how how much it means to us!

Thank You, LORD, for all the wonderfully, generous and kind people you have put in our lives. Amen.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

He has never failed me

Have you ever been let down? I mean, you really put your trust, your hope, your faith in someone, only to see them really fail you? There is little that compares to being leery down.

I really try to be a man of my word. I have failed at that, and have certainly let others down, but I try to be s man that does what he says he will do. Even with that desire and sincere effort, though, as I said, I still let others down.

Today's word is Psalm 9:10, NIV, which reads, "Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You."

We can trust that GOD will never let us down; He will never leave us out to dry. He won't always give us what we're want, but, He will always give us what we're need, and will always be there. Always.

Have you ever let anyone down? Have you ever been let down? Why not seek and serve the One that will never leave you and never forsake you? He has never failed me.

Be Blessed,
