Receive the SAVIOR

During our Sunday School lesson yesterday, the question was asked, "What decoration, what festivity, what song, makes it feel like Christmas for you?" My reply was, "Wrapping that first gift makes it feel like Christmas to me."

There is just something about wrapping that first present that makes it feel like Christmas. Now, with our two little ones, wrapping is more of a covert operation than it used to be but, even then, it is a fun, or should be, activity. It is fun to wrap something for someone else and knowing what it is but they don't have a clue.

Today's word is Matthew 2:2, NKJV, which reads, The wise men said, "Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

Of course, we know that the wise men brought gifts to the baby JESUS: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But, it wasn't about the presents - it was about the gift. GOD had come in human flesh, incarnate, in order to make a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and to be able to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

If you don't know JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR, what better gift could your receive this Christmas? To have the assurance and the blessing of knowing the SAVIOR is something that will not only change your life, it'll change your eternity. He came as a child; the wise men sought Him. Unwrapping gifts is nice - receiving the SAVIOR is the GREATEST.

Merry CHRISTmas!

Be Blessed,

Listen

I admit that I have a tendency to hear but not listen. How about you? I mean, I hear people when they say things but I don't really take it in, I don't always listen. And, I will admit that it is frustrating to the person that is talking, and to me, especially when I do something I wasn't supposed to do or I don't do something I was supposed to do. Things could go so much smoother and easier if I would just listen.

I think we often go through life hearing only what we want. However, if our child makes a sound in the night, a really small sound, we hear. If there is a creaky floorboard in the hall, we hear it. When we were younger and our Mother called us by our full name, we heard. Aren't you glad that, at least, when it is really important, we can focus and hear?

Today's word is Psalm 40:1, ESV, which reads, "I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry."

We need not wonder if GOD is listening; He not only hears, He listens. The psalmist wrote here that GOD "inclined", which means He fully listened with intent and interest; He "heard my cry". Aren't you glad that GOD isn't just a hearer? He is a listener and a doer.

I read somewhere that we don't always listen to hear, we more often listen to respond. If all we are doing is thinking of our next response, we may miss the most important details. I want to listen. I want to listen with the intent to understand. I want to hear what Trish tells me. I want to hear when my kids call to me. I want to hear the voice of GOD, really hear. Pray that I will not only hear, but that I will also listen.

Be Blessed,

We walk by faith

I have a couple of family members going through some really difficult times right now, as I am sure we all do. We just never know when something is going to happen in our lives that changes everything. One moment we think we have our priorities in line, the next everything that seemed important five (5) minutes ago are no longer important.

I will never say that I know how you feel. Again, no one knows how anyone feels. We can empathize with one another. We can sympathize with others. We will never know how someone else truly feels. What I can do when things aren't going the way I thought they should, when things aren't going the way that I feel is right, is pray. GOD is the source of my strength.

Today's word is 2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV, which reminds us to keep trusting GOD: "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

If we focus only on what we see all around us, all the negativity exploding all around us, we will be so overcome with defeat that progress will halt. But, the Bible tells us in Hebrews that "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." We may not know how everything is going to turn out, and it may be going completely opposite of anything we ever envisioned, but we can rest assured, we can have faith, that GOD has it all under control.

Let's pray for one another; life can be very difficult and changes quickly. Please pray for my family. Pray that GOD will remind us that He is GOD and He is good. Pray that we will all see Him working in our lives, and that we will not be overcome by all that we see. For, we walk by faith.

The beauty of music

I LOVE Christmas music. There is nothing like hearing a Christmas tune to put you in the Christmas mood. I like to hearing and singing (or, trying to sing) Christmas music even in July. When we remember what the Season is truly about (the birth of our SAVIOR), how can it not make you happy and joyful.

Our choir has had the opportunity this weekend to sing at a couple of locations. We have some really talented people in our choir, me excluded, of course. But, it isn't about the talent; it is about the spirit and the willingness to share that talent with others. It was a lot of fun to sing at these venues and see others enjoy the Christmas Season a little more.

Today's word is Ephesians 5:19, NIV, which reads, "Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the LORD."

Paul was telling the Ephesians something we all know: there is just something about singing that puts you and others in a good mood, especially when we do it with the right motivation and from the correct location. Our music must come from the heart, and it must be to the LORD. While we have tried our best to sing at a couple of locations this week, it wasn't about the place; it was about the SAVIOR.

I hope you are enjoying the CHRISTmas Season. I hope you are listening to some really great CHRISTmas music. More important, though, I hope you are singing from your heart to the LORD. It is only when we do this that we can really enjoy the beauty of music.

Be Blessed,

Actively Seeing

It is never lost on me that our little ones are watching everything I do. I have seen them imitate several things they have seen me do, some good, some not so much. It is absolutely amazing to me how much they soak up, mostly anything bad that I do. IF I have any good qualities, I pray that they eventually mimic those as well.

The fact is that folks are watching us constantly. There is not a day goes by, not a moment in that day, that someone is not watching everything we do. Now, this can really intimidate you, if you let it. Or, it can really motivate you to do the right things, even when, seemingly, no one is physically watching. Because, we know that GOD is always watching.

Today's word is 2 Chronicles 16:9a, NIV, which reads, "For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him..."

This time of year, one of our two will do something that the other will say, "You know Santa is watching you." To this, I always try to reply, "You should be more concerned that JESUS is always watching you." And, as we see from today's word, it isn't just to keep a list of naughty and nice things that we perform. GOD is watching us, keeping up with us, staying close beside us in order to strengthen us as we go through this life.

Yes, folks are watching; they always have, they always will. Yes, we will make mistakes and they will pounce like no ones business. But, we can also rest in the fact that GOD is watching out for us, and He is watching us and giving us the strength that we need to accomplish His good will. Everyone is looking, but, GOD isn't just watching - He is actively seeing.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

A foundation that cannot be shaken

Trish was reading a devotional this morning that stated that today was National Gingerbread House Day. I have never built a gingerbread house; I have never tasted a gingerbread house. I have eaten quite a few gingerbread men, which are quite tasty to say the least.

I have never built a house. I have had the pleasure of helping remodel or adding on an addition. I like carpentry work. Like so many things, I am not very good at it, not very proficient, but I like the art of building things. There is something about having a two dimensional plan, a diagram, a blueprint, a drawing, and making some three dimensional structure.

More important than building a house, though, is our attempts to build a home. I doubt anyone could argue that the home and the home structure is under constant, relentless attack. Every day we hear about more and more homes falling apart; we hear more and more about homes being destroyed by whatever sin arises. We have to make a conscious and concerted effort to protect our homes. We also have to make sure we build our home correctly from the beginning.

Today's word is Psalm 127:1, ESV, a very familiar scripture: "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain..."

We can build our houses on solid rock, but, if our foundation isn't on THE ROCK, we are starting out compromised. When we allow CHRIST to be the center of our lives and the center of our homes, we will find that we have a foundation that cannot be shaken.

Talk to Him

We all have problems. There is not a soul alive that, if they just think about it, wouldn't see that they have some difficulty in his/her life. We all have, we all do, we all will. Problems and struggles and circumstances are just a part of this walk. But, thankfully, we serve a SAVIOR Who has walked it and overcome it. And, He is working on our behalf, standing on our side, strengthening us so that we, too, can overcome.

I heard yesterday of a little girl that has recently been diagnosed with leukemia. It absolutely breaks my heart. I don't know how you as a parent receive and process that information. I don't know how I would handle it. Our prayers go out to this young girl and her family. Please pray for them; GOD knows who they are. And, pray for all the others that are struggling and battling. GOD is still on the throne, and He can do whatever He wants, whenever He wants, however He wants. Pray.

Today's word is a reminder of the healing power of our SAVIOR. Luke 13:13, NIV, reads, "Then He put His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised GOD."

JESUS was in one of the synagogues teaching. On this particular Sabbath, He noticed a woman who was hunched over and couldn't stand up straight. Luke 13:11 tells us that she had been this way for eighteen years. I bet she thought she would go through the rest of her life hunched over and not able to stand straight. BUT, she was in the presence of the MASTER. JESUS called her over and healed her. We read her reaction in today's word - "...she immediately straightened up and praised GOD."

I don't know what you are going through today, no one does. But, I do know that we serve the same GOD, the same MASTER, the same HEALER. I don't know His process. I don't know His plans. BUT, I do know His power! He is my LORD and SAVIOR. If you are dealing with something today, talk to Him.

I will sing His praise!

The weather this weekend was absolutely horrible. It rained and was cold and it just wasn't fit for anything outside. In parts of the U.S. there will be many affected by power outages, closed roads, weather-related difficulties. The kids couldn't get out and do anything this weekend. So...

On Saturday, we did something we had never done before. We took the kids on a train ride with Santa. Now, the ride itself was a very simple, really unimpressive ride, BUT, when Santa came on board, the atmosphere of the entire event changed. What a fun and humbling time to be able to see that kind of joy on little kids' faces.

Today's word is Psalm 13:6, NIV, which reads, "I will sing the LORD'S praise, for He has been good to me."

I am in no way indicating that our weekend, our weather-related challenges, are anything compared to those who have been really affected. But, to a seven-year-old and a six-year-old, it is difficult to be cooped up inside the house. What a blessing it was that we could load up and travel an hour and take a ride with Santa. What a blessing it is to have a family to do things with.

I have shared before that you would have to look far and long to find anyone more blessed than I. GOD has been so good to me; He has blessed me exceedingly, abundantly above ANYTHING I could have ever thought, dreamed, or imagined. I will sing His praise!

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Count what counts

Today is the day. Each year, for the past eighteen, every fourth grader in our county comes to a festival where they are taught about the benefits of not polluting our waters and the process of water treatment. It is a fun day.

What has been really neat about the eighteen years of training is that we now have the high school students, who have gone through this festival, teach today's fourth graders. The fourth graders love it because they are hearing from some cool, teenage, high schoolers, and not just some old fogies. It is important that we teach our children - the right things.

Today's word is something that I thought about as we have prepared for the water festival and while helping my children with math, spelling, and language this week. "Teaching your child to count is good. Teaching your child what counts is more important."

It is good that our two children can count; it is imperative. Life will be almost impossible without the ability to do simple arithmetic computations. Without the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, the world becomes much more complicated; and, you can be taken advantage of. So, it is important that we do all we can to teach our children how to count.

However, it is much more important that we teach our children what counts. Like it's not important how much money you make; what's important is what you do with it. Or, it's not important what others think of you; it's more important what GOD knows about you. Yes, friends count but eternity is more important. Especially as we enter the Christmas season, I want my children to know that it isn't the number of gifts they get. We are celebrating the birth of our SAVIOR and the gift of eternal life. Learn to count what counts.

Love is Action

Have you ever seen love in action? To be love, it has to be action. Love is more than a feeling, more than a description, more than a word; love is action. When we truly love someone, we do things for that someone. Not because we want anything in return other than for that someone to know that we love them.

I am surrounded by love. My wife and kids love me. There is not a day that goes by that I don't see the love they have for me in very tangible ways: meals are fixed, house is cleaned, clothes are washed, time is spent together.

Today's word is just a reminder that we need to be showing/doing love. 1 John 3:18, NLT, reads, "Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."

It is really easy to say that we love someone. I remind myself all the time, though, that it is more about what I do than about what I say I'll do. Because, again, love is action. I want my family to know that I love them, not just by telling them, but by showing them. It is not a chore to go to work each day; work is a means for us to be able to have what we have but, more important, it is a way for GOD to show us His goodness and to supply our needs. Through allowing us to work, He shows His love so that we can show ours.

I want folks to know that I love them. I don't want them to just hear me say that I love them, oh, I do. But, I want them to see that I love them. I want my family to see that my love for them is more than mere words - love is action.

Happy Cookie Day

Well, today is National Cookie Day! I don't know about you but I like cookies. Now, I am not the biggest sweets eater; I prefer greasy and salty over sweet. But, I do like cookies, especially peanut butter. I have probably shared before that I really like peanut butter, especially when it is wrapped in chocolate. I digress...

Anyway, here on National Cookie Day, I began thinking about fortune cookies, which I also like. Now, I don't think fortune cookies dictate the future but they can certainly make us think. And, the fact that they can make us think caused me to think about some of the best messages I have ever seen from a fortune cookie.

So, today's word is a word from a fortune cookie: "If you wish to see the best in others, show the best of yourself."

I readily admit that I don't always show my best. Oh, I will tell my best, I will present myself as the best but that is not really showing my best. I have found myself stretching the truth at times just to make others think that I am something that I am not. Another fortune cookie message I remember says, "Never forget that a half truth is a whole lie."

I want to see the best in others. If I can live a good example and cause others to want to do so too, I would be wrong for not doing exactly that. I want to be what I should be. I want to be an example of showing the best of myself. Just as that fortune cookie doesn't dictate what happens, it can cause you to think. I want to think about and remember to show the best of myself. Happy Cookie Day!

Mickey T

We should

I have had the blessing lately of working on a rather large project that our church does annually. It is HUGE, and it takes a lot of people, doing a lot of things, and a lot of coordination to bring it all together. My part in it is so small it is almost insignificant but it has been a true blessing to be a part of it.

What has been truly amazing is the number of volunteers that have come out to work. The project has taken several weeks to put together and there are some that have been present at every work day, which has been a bunch. There are some retired guys that have worked tirelessly through the week! It is absolutely amazing.

So, why do they work so hard to bring this project together? Yes, it is good outreach for the church. Yes, it is an opportunity to share the Gospel with others. Yes, it is visually stunning and pleasing. But, I think the main reason is that these folks want to share the plan of salvation with others, AND, they know that GOD will reward their efforts.

Today's word is a reminder of GOD'S goodness to His children: "If GOD is my Boss, and I'm His employee, I'm very thankful for my everyday salary called LIFE! With benefits called BLESSINGS! And, a reward called ETERNAL LIFE!"

As Christians, we have already been given so much. As I like to say, "We have all this and Heaven, too." GOD has given us so much to be thankful for, so much to look forward to, that we just want others to know the Good News, or we should.

Take Care of You

According to the National Day Calendar, today is National Stay At Home Because You Are Well Day. Well, unfortunately, it falls on a Friday, the last day of a month, with lots to do. However, if you can take advantage of this unique opportunity, then, by all means, enjoy a day of wellness at home.

We all need to take a break from time to time to recuperate and to recharge. In this busy society, especially in this busy time of year, there is ALWAYS something to do, somewhere to go, someone to see. BUT, we also need to take a few minutes every now and then and just catch our breath and rest.

Today's word is Mark 6:31, ESV, which reads, "And He said to them, 'Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.' For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat."

The disciples were busy doing good things, ministering to countless people who truly needed it. But, as we read in today's passage, they were so busy they didn't even have time to eat. You can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself. You can't help others if you become so weak that you have to be helped. We all need to rest.

Look, it is National Stay At Home Because You are Well Day, and maybe you are like the majority of us and that is not an option, but, when you get a chance, today, tomorrow, this weekend, next week, take a break. We all need to take a break and get some rest. Again, you can't take care of others if you don't take care of you.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Joy is coming

Have you ever been angry? I mean, really angry? I have been angry, really angry, a few times but I don't usually stay angry. I know people that are angry at everyone and everything and they don't even know why; they are just angry.

Being angry doesn't really accomplish much of anything positive on a regular basis. Oh, it'll accomplish ulcers and wrinkles and possible hypertension and heart attacks but I don't see any of that as a real positive. As I said, we all get angry. But, it is what we do with the anger and how long we hold that anger that really matters.

Today's word holds two reminders for us. Psalm 30:5, NKJV reads, "For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life: Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."

I probably make a lot of people angry, probably on a daily basis, yet, even when GOD gets angry with me, His child, He doesn't stay angry. He loves me and, while I disappoint Him from time to time and make Him angry from time to time, He doesn't stay angry because He loves me. Just as we love our children, GOD loves us even more perfectly.

And, as I mentioned earlier this week, there has been a lot of death in our lives the last few months. We hurt for and pray for all these that have seen their loved ones go to eternity. We can also rest assured that GOD is still with us, He still cares, He still holds us. And, while it may never get better, He will help us get through it. We will have our nights of weeping but He will bring joy in the morning. Hold to Him; hang in there; let go of anger; joy is coming.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

When we are truly strong

I have acknowledged before that I have seen amazingly strong examples of strength in my life, and I am not talking about physical. I have seen people that have gone through unimaginable difficulties and pain, while keeping a smile and positive attitude about it all. Most of them, of course, are strong Christians, who receive their strength from the Almighty.

On the other hand, I have seen folks that will turn tail and run at the drop of a hat. I have seen them, in the slightest of difficulty, give in and give up. I have also seen these same people that would give in way to easily in other situations stand strong in the face of the most fierce opposition. I have come to realize that our strength is influenced by the heat of the moment.

Today's word is a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, which I am going to rephrase slightly: "A person is like a teabag - you never know how strong they are until they get in hot water."

I think our true strength displays itself when we have to. In situations that I may think someone should be stronger, the fact may be that the other person isn't feeling the heat, and his/her response is affected by the pressure, the heat, that they are feeling. However, when the heat is on, true strength will show itself, which may be good or may not. If your strength comes from the LORD, I can promise you that you are strong.

I have rambled today, and I apologize. I am just trying to get across that when things get tough, when things get hard, when things get difficult, our true strength will show. And, if all we have to rely on is our physical strength, we are often going to fail. However, if we allow GOD to work through us in every situation, we will find that that is when we are truly strong.

Mickey T

My strength and my portion FOREVER

Losing a loved one to death is a very difficult time in anyone's life, no matter the loved ones age. Allow me to say, again, however, that my loved ones have passed but they are not LOST, I know where they are. But, it is still difficult for those of us remaining here. While my Pops and other loved ones are whole and living with JESUS in eternity, I miss them.

These past few months have been difficult in my family, biological and professional. My uncle passed just a few months ago, another uncle less than a month ago, a coworker's, and friend's, father last week, my aunt just two days ago, and a great man, example, and prominent community leader just yesterday. We pray for the families, comfort where we can, and rely on the Holy Spirit to provide that comfort that only GOD can.

Today's word is a passage that I try to remember when I am feeling down: Psalm 73:26, NIV, reads, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

In this life, we will suffer loss. We will struggle with things that used to not be a problem at all. There will be times when our spirit is willing but the flesh just cannot do it anymore. There will be those times when we just can't make our fleshly bodies do what we know we used to do. There will be those times that we will see our loved ones struggle with these same maladies. BUT...

BUT, I know that GOD is my strength. And, come what may, He has me by the hand and will continue to lead me and comfort me and encourage me each step along the journey. My flesh and my heart may fail, but, GOD will NEVER fail. He is my strength and my portion FOREVER.

When we are together

I hope and pray everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We shouldn't reserve one day each year to return thanks for all that GOD has done and is doing for us. But, it is really nice that once a year we try to assemble together and collectively remember GOD for all His goodness.

Now, it is unfortunate when families, loved ones, can't get together in peace and harmony for even a few hours. But, that is the case sometimes. I am blessed to see my family, all of them. What we have to keep in mind is that we are each individuals, with our own quirks and our own "issues". We may be having a bad morning prior to the get together. We never know what someone else is going through.

Today's word is a passage from Psalm to remind us about getting together: Psalm 133:1, NIV, reads, "How good and pleasant it is when GOD'S people live together in unity."

It is nice when everyone gets along and there is no moaning, groaning, complaining, griping, etc. It is nice when we can all agree to disagree. However, there are still those times when things are a little askew and emotions are near the surface; that's when the unity is lost. I try to keep in mind, when it is my emotions, that keeping peace and unity for everyone else is the least I can do.

Anyway, again, I pray everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We are entering the time of year that we celebrate the birth of our SAVIOR, the GIFT. I am forever, eternally thankful for GOD loving me enough to accept me into His family. I am thankful for the family that He has blessed me with. I pray that I can always have a good attitude when we are together.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

One gracious blessing after another

Okay, I know I talked about being grateful yesterday but, it is Thanksgiving week, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I can't help but want to give thanks for all that the LORD has done and given to me. I don't have to look very far or very long to see blessing after blessing after blessing. The mere fact that I can sit here and type this morning is a blessing that I will NEVER take for granted. NEVER.

But, there are countless others, which I am not going to try to sit here and list. I just wanted to say, "Thank you, LORD, for ALL the many, many blessings in my life." You would truly be hard-pressed to find anyone more blessed than I am. And, again, not because I deserve it; GOD blesses His children just because He loves us and just because He can.

Today's word is John 1:16, NLT, which reads, "From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another."

Even on those days when things aren't going my way, when it seems that there is one calamity after another, if I will just take a second and think, I will realize how blessed I am. There are so many things that we take for granted: walking, talking, cognitive thinking, breathing, hearing, seeing, and the list goes on and on. Yes, there will be bad moments, maybe in each day, but for the most part, there is LOTS to be thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Give thanks to the One Who gives one gracious blessing after another.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

What we have is enough

I don't know about you, but, I have had those moments when I stood in front of a refrigerator or a pantry full of food and thought, "We have nothing to eat." Or, when I have stood in front of my overstuffed closet and thought, "Man, I don't have anything to wear." Maybe it is just me, but, it has happened.

Obviously, from my description about the refrigerator, the pantry, or the closet, none of my thoughts were true or accurate. We have plenty to eat - plenty. Sometimes, it may not be exactly what you were looking for but, if you are truly hungry, there is stuff to eat. While it may not be the latest fashion, my closet is FULL of clothes. It really all comes down to realizing you have enough.

Today's word is just a thought, a saying, that I think about as we approach Thanksgiving, and that I try to remember ever day: "Gratitude will turn what you have into ENOUGH."

When we find ourselves truly thankful for all the blessings that we already have, we begin to realize how truly blessed we really are. We live in the greatest country in the world. Does it have its problems? OH YES. But, it is still the greatest country in the world. We have access to great medical care, great food supplies, great churches, and the freedom to worship JESUS CHRIST. It is truly the greatest country.

Then, if you are like me, you have a closet full of clothes and a refrigerator and pantry full of food. When I think of how much I have been blessed, I can't help but be grateful and thankful. Is it because I deserve it? No, it is just because GOD poured it out on me. I truly believe when we start being grateful for what we do have and stop wanting more, we will realize that what we have is enough.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

How Small

Have you ever done something that you never thought you would be able to do? I mean, have you ever accomplished a feat, exceeded a goal, that you had set that you never thought you could actually attain. Or, have you ever overcome something that seemed so difficult, so devastating, so undoable that even now you are amazed you survived it?

I think we have all had challenges in our lives that, when we look back, we are amazed at how we came through them. Unscathed? No. Unchanged? No. Better for it? Yes. Grown from it? Yes. We never get stronger if we are never challenged, if we never have to put forth more than mediocre effort.

Today's word is just something I came across that reminds me that, with GOD, we can do anything: "Sometimes GOD will put a Goliath in your life, for you to find the David within you."

We will have our times of trials and struggles; that is just the way life is in this world. It is what we do about those challenges, how we handle those difficulties, what we learn from those struggles, how we apply those lessons in our lives and the lives of others, that is the real goal. If we sit down and do nothing every time things get difficult, we will never grow - and NOTHING will ever get done.

All we have to do is remember how GOD used David, a young, small, shepherd boy to defeat a GIANT. Of course, it had nothing to do with David's physical strength, but it did have to do with David's spiritual strength and his faith that GOD had it under control. When the challenges come, don't look at how big the challenge is; look at how small it is compared to GOD.

I try to follow Him

We are blessed! And, when I say that, I am not just saying that. I know how much GOD has given us, more than I could ever think, dream, or imagine. We are blessed with good health, a good house, a good life. We have love and kindness and compassion and caring in our home. Yes, we also have our disputes and disturbances and disruptions but they are far outweighed by the blessings.

I look back on my life and wonder why GOD has been so good to me and to us. I can tell you that I don't deserve it any more than anyone else. But, GOD has determined, by His great love for us, that we don't deserve it any less. We try to be good stewards of that which GOD provides. We try to make good use of His many blessings. And, He has always rewarded our efforts.

Today's word is a reminder to me that GOD expects me to do my part. 1 Timothy 5:8, NIV, reads, "Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

GOD tells us that we are to provide for our families. One of His commandments is to "Honor your Father and Mother." We are to take care of those in our families, especially those in our own household. Trish, Blake, and Olivia are my great blessings, and my first earthly priority. I am to take care of them, provide for them, protect them. It isn't just my duty and obligation - it is my privilege and blessing.

GOD only knows how my kids are going to turn out. I pray every day that they will listen to His calling and answer. I pray that they will find good examples to follow and that they will see that His way is THE WAY. I pray that they will be able to see His love through me. I pray that I set a good example and that they will see that I try to follow Him.

Be Blessed,

Can't help but Smile

Not long ago, the kids wanted to go to a fast food restaurant for breakfast. We don't go out for breakfast often but they wanted something specific and it wasn't going to break the bank to give them something that they wanted. So, we went to this particular fast food establishment in order to get a hash brown that they would cover with jam and eat.

As I approached the counter to place our order, I was whistling, which I have been known to do. The lady behind the register said, "Well, someone certainly is happy this morning." I replied, "Actually, I am usually always happy." To this she asked, "And, how does that work?" I said, "Simply put, I wake up in the morning and choose to be happy." Then, she asked, "So, it's really that easy?" I replied, "It is for me."

Today's word is Proverbs 15:13, NIV, which reads, "A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit."

There will be days when it just seems that this world is piling on. It'll seem that we can barely get past one thing before another hits us, then another, and another, you get the idea. We will all experience those days when it seems that everything is broken and it will NEVER be any better. And, if all we focus on is what is currently happening, it will seem even more dire. BUT...

But, if we will focus on GOD and His great love for us and His great plan for us and His great care for us, we can see that, even in the midst of despair, there is reason to smile. Yes, I have my bad days, too. No, I don't always smile and whistle; that would be insane. But, for the most part, I know how blessed I am. And, when I focus on ALL the blessing I have, I can't help but smile.

Happy Veterans Day

Sunday is Veterans Day. I am so thankful and grateful to all those who have served to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. We, as a nation, will probably never agree on anything. BUT, we SHOULD all agree that those that have served to provide our freedoms are worthy of our thanks and gratitude, along with the families that support them.

Our soldiers, sailors, and airmen are all over the world ensuring that I can get to work this morning, get my kids to school, get to church this Sunday, go to the movies, dine out, talk about our government. We have the freedoms that we so richly enjoy because they are willing to give up some personal freedoms to protect it.

In honor of Veterans Day, today's word is a quote from Omar Bradley that says, "Bravery is the capacity to perform properly even when scared to death."

We are a great nation because of those willing to sacrifice to make it great. We are a great nation as long as we remember that GOD gives us everything, and it is our duty to protect it and be good stewards of it. We are a great nation as long as we serve Him, and we do that by serving our fellow man. The hours are long, the challenges are difficult, the circumstances can be daunting, but the mission is still completed.

Thanks to all the brave men and women that serve, and have served, to protect and to preserve. I am grateful for you. I am thankful for you. I am praying for you. Thank you for making and keeping this the greatest country in the world! Happy Veterans Day!

He Understands

There are certain things that happen that you just cannot understand. As I have mentioned before, I don't know why certain things happen to anybody. I especially don't know why "bad" things happen to some people. I don't know why select people seem to have an abundance of struggles and others go through life almost completely unscathed. I just don't know.

It is when we go through these difficult times that we have a tendency to wonder if GOD is with us, if He hears our prayers, if He sees the struggles, if He sees the heartaches, if He cares. I can tell you, without a doubt, that He is there, He hears, He sees, He cares.

Today's word is Isaiah 40:28, NLT, which reads, "Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting GOD, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding."

We can know and stand confidently that our GOD, the One and Only True and Living GOD, is on our side. Yes, things may be going in ways that we were not expecting and in ways that we don't feel that we "deserve". But, trust me, He is there. The LORD never grows tired, He never gets worn out. He is constantly, consistently, continually there, helping us through everything. And, He understands.

Our GOD isn't just some far away being that doesn't know what is going on. No, He knows EVERYTHING. He understands hurt and betrayal; we have betrayed Him countless times. He understands heartache and pain; we have caused Him much. He understands loss; He gave His only Son. We can rest assured that He is there, He understands, and He will help us through.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Congratulations Jerry and Mary Ann

My in-laws celebrated their fiftieth (50th) anniversary two days ago, an almost unheard of feat in this day and age. They have chosen that come what may, they would remain married no matter what, even after their daughter married someone like me.

I am sure there have been many ups and downs, joys and sorrows, happys and sads. I am sure there have probably been times that they wondered if they would make it through another day, much less fifty years. But, they have stayed the course, they have remained steadfast, loyal, faithful, dedicated. So, here's to Jerry and Mary Ann!

Today's word is a very familiar passage that is often used during wedding ceremonies. Matthew 19:6, NLT, reads, "Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what GOD has joined together."

I am not going to talk about divorce and giving up; I want to applaud those, who like my in-laws, my parents, have taken this verse to heart and haven't allowed anything to split them apart. My parents were married 53 years when my Pops passed. Now, Trishia's parents have been married 50. What a testament to us, their children.

Again, I just want to say, "Congratulations Jerry and Mary Ann!" I pray you see many, many more happy and blessed years of marriage!

Affect them positively

This weekend was a very busy, but mostly productive, one. I spent Saturday installing some sub-flooring and flooring in my Mom's house. Now, this is not about me; it is about my niece, Nicole. Nicole had worked the night shift Friday night and got off just before we started Saturday morning. Then, she worked all day Saturday, moving furniture, laying flooring, holding molding, etc. all day. She was a trooper; and, I am really proud of her.

Then, yesterday, after church, we traveled to see Frozen, Disney on Ice. While Blake and I didn't get the most out of it, Trish and Olivia were thrilled. If you asked our young son if he enjoyed it, he would tell you, "No." However, he sat through the entire show and didn't complain a single time. I was really proud of the way he handled it.

Today's word is a quote I came across that reminds me that it isn't always about me: "Never stop doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest part of their hearts."

We can often do things that we think go unnoticed, and even unappreciated. First, though, we shouldn't be doing it for the praise we will receive; we should be doing things, helping others, because it is the right thing to do. More important, however, is that it is often more appreciated than we could ever imagine. I know my Mom really appreciates Nicole's work Saturday; it is something that she will appreciate every time she walks into her living room. And, Nicole appreciates her NaNa enough to give up a little sleep and to help. It is something they will both remember and appreciate.

For Blake, while the ice rink may not have been everything he wanted, his Mom and little sister will always remember seeing the show and that he was there with them. They will remember the joy they experienced and that he was a big part of it. We do things for others because we love them. We will never truly know how much our actions affect someone else. Let's affect them positively.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

What we need to boast about

Man, there are some people in this world that love to brag. They will tell you all about how good they are, how strong they are, how smart they are, etc. And, look, it is great to be strong and good and smart. And, I know that they have probably put a lot of work and effort into being strong and studying. But, they didn't do it alone...

It seems that we want to boast about our accomplishments. I like to tell people that the older I get the better I was. Time has a tendency to dim the fact that I was mediocre at my very best. I was a pretty fast runner when I was younger. Do you know why I was faster than others? Because I worked at being faster? Because I ate some special supplement? No, GOD just made me a little faster.

Do you know what a gift it is to be able to run 100 meters in 10 seconds? Yes, the elite athletes train, and train hard, but, they are gifted to run extremely fast. I could train from now until kingdom come and I will NEVER run 100 meters in 10 seconds. Why? Because GOD didn't give me that gift. So, if you have been given a GIFT (e.g., singing, playing a musical instrument, running, throwing a football, cartwheeling, being seven feet tall with coordination) can you really take credit for the gift? Wasn't it given to you?

Today's word is 1 Corinthians 1:31, NLT, which reads, "Therefore, as the Scriptures say, 'If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.'"

We have ALL been gifted in so many ways - Give GOD the credit He deserves for giving those gifts. Yes, by all means, boast about how hard you work, how much you try to hone and use that gift, but how can we boast about a gift, except the Gift of Salvation through faith in JESUS CHRIST? Now, He is what we need to boast about.

Mickey T

Trick or Treat Adventure

So, last night we went Trick or Treating. We have previously always gone to fall festivals and trunk-a-treats, which are all great and for which I am always appreciative. But, we wanted our kids to go trick or treating; go door-to-door, open their bag, say, "Trick or Treat", received candy, and say, "Thank You," then, repeat. What we found was that not a lot of people participate in giving out candy anymore.

When I was a child, everyone gave out candy. We would walk the neighborhood and receive candy from someone at every house. Not so much anymore. We hit many more houses not giving out candy last night than were. Now, we also went to a fall festival and the kids got PLENTY of candy, but, I just wonder why so many people don't give out candy.

Today's word is a quote from Charles R. Swindoll that says, "Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the memory banks of our children."

Last night, even though it wasn't like I remembered it, our kids had a ball! They loved going from one house to the next. They loved knocking on doors. They loved the anticipation of what was coming. They loved the entire experience, regardless of the amount of candy they received. When they went to the house where the owner simply said, "NO CANDY," they were not deterred. As a matter of fact, they spent the rest of the evening imitating the voice, and laughing and laughing, which was quite a memory.

I don't ever want to forget the memories of my childhood. I don't ever want to forget the many blessings that I had growing up. I don't ever want to forget that I am helping to make those memories for my children. I don't ever want to forget that I am making deposits into their memory banks every single day. I don't ever want to forget the fun they had on their first Trick or Treat adventure.

The Boiling Water

So, I really don't know how to start this post. I am not really sure how it will all come out when I finish typing but I am going to try to get a thought across. The thought that I have this morning is that we all go through things, we all experience things, we all struggle with things, but some people allow the difficulties to make them bitter, while others use the difficulties to make them better. Have you noticed that?

Two people can go through virtually the same experience but the one will be bitter the rest of his/her life, while the other will use that struggle to be a better person the rest of his/her life. And, trust me, I am not judging either way; one of our laws states, "Every situation is relative to each individual". Everything affects each person differently.

Today's word is something I came across, and it started my thoughts today: "The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of, not the circumstances."

I have seen people in my life that have really struggled with things that others do not struggle with, and vice versa. It truly is relative to the individual. What bothers you may not bother me; what bothers me may be a nonissue for you. BUT, the point I am trying to get to, and failing miserably, is that it mostly depends on our perspective and what we are made of, what we allow to soften us.

And, it works both ways. Some sappy movie may not affect some people at all, while it causes others to bawl like a baby. On the other hand, some life changing event may cause one to lay in a fetal position and cry, while someone else thinks, "It really is no big deal." Both reactions stem from prior experience and life challenges.

Here's the point, though, we all face life's challenges, the boiling water, each and every one of us. It is up to us whether we allow those incidences, those challenges, those obstacles, those disappointments, to soften us or to make us more resilient. We each, individually, choose how we come out of the boiling water.

Even when the outside isn't

Do you ever get dirty? I mean really dirty? Do you like to stay dirty? I can get as dirty as anyone: working on cars, doing yard work, playing sports, etc., but, I do not like staying dirty. Shortly after finishing whatever sweat-inducing, dirt-clinging activity I am doing, I like to clean up and put on clean clothes. And, it doesn't end there...

After getting cleaned up and putting on fresh clothes, I will not put the dirty clothes back on - they have to be cleaned as well. I want them to be washed and dried and folded and put away. I don't leave them laying around dirty, waiting to be put back on the next time I have to work. No one likes putting on dirty clothes. So, why do we continually put on the same sins over and over?

Today's word is James 1:21, ESV, which reads, "Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls."

Just as dirty clothes foul our outward appearance, sinning fouls our outward appearance. When others see us sin, they see the dirt on us. More important, though, is when we sin, we feel the dirtiness on us. Why do we continually go back to the same sins that so easily beset us? Why do we return to the same sins over and over and over? Why do we wallow in the dirt instead of shedding those dirty clothes and freshening up and putting on something clean? Because we don't have the implanted word...

To be implanted means to be inserted, grafted, embedded. When we allow GOD'S word to be embedded into our very being, it will keep us from becoming so easily soiled by all the sin that is prevalent in today's world. Just as we don't like to walk around in dirty clothes, we shouldn't like walking around in sin. And, you don't have to - take off the sin and allow GOD'S Word, the Word that is able to save your very soul, to become implanted. Then, the inside will be clean even when the outside isn't.

Find Fun

Today is Fall Fest for Blake and Olivia at their elementary school. Because of the rain, it has had to be scaled back but it should still be a fun time for everyone. They will have booths set up in the gym, along with games and chances to win prizes. Most important, they will have the opportunity to share some fun time with others.

I really like this time of year; there is so much to do. Our church had a fall festival for everyone this past Wednesday night, which was a huge success, I hear. We plan to go to a pumpkin patch this Sunday after church. Of course, trick or treat is just a few days away. The beginning of fall is a fun time. However, every day can be fun, if you want.

Today's word is a lengthy verse from Ecclesiastes, which reminds us to have a little fun. Ecclesiastes 8:15, NLT, reads, "So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work GOD gives them under the sun."

If we allow it, the every day wear and tear of this life can beat us up and bring us down. Solomon reminds us that we need to enjoy life. The Bible tells us that JESUS came to give us abundant life. Yes, there are going to be hard and difficult days - lots of them. But, there will also be lots of fun and exciting days. We just have to choose to have a fun day from time to time.

You may not be heading to a fall fest today but it can still be a day of fun. Look for something that makes you smile today. Look for something that will make someone else smile today. Listen to a child's laughter. Watch someone accomplish something difficult. When we take our focus off of ourselves and all the things that are wrong in our lives, we may just begin to see the good things GOD has given each of us. And, you may find fun.

I want to work for Him

I had a businessman tell me a story of an employee he had. It seems that this particular employee had been hired in as a lab assistant, helping the chemist prepare samples for analysis. One day, this business owner walked through the lab and noticed that some things needed tidying a bit so he asked the lab assistant to get some cleaning supplies and freshen the place up. The lab assistant told this man, who had hired him, that that was not in his job description. He continued by informing his boss that he was a lab assistant, not a janitor. In just a few minutes later, this man found out that he was neither.

We have to remember that we work for someone else. Even if you are a business owner, you work for your customers. We, Christians, have to remember that beyond our immediate, human, earthly, bosses, we work for GOD. We are a direct reflection of His attitude, His humility, His servitude.

Today's word is a very familiar passage from Colossians 3:23, ESV, which reads, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the LORD and not for men."

As Christians, we work for our LORD, through those that employ us. Yes, they are our bosses, our supervisors, our superiors, but ultimately, we work for the LORD. GOD has given us the ability to work and to work where we do. How we perform our duties is a reflection of our appreciation to Him.

JESUS sacrificed everything to bring us eternal life. He left it all to come here and save us. While He walked the earth, He was the greatest servant anyone could ever imagine. His example of humility and servitude should be seen in His children. I admit that I don't always have the right attitude: reading today's word reminded me of that. It also reminded me of the story with which I began today's post. I never want to feel as though something is beneath me. Because, I am so unworthy and so beneath my SAVIOR, and yet He came to seek, to serve, and to save me. I want to work for Him.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Turn to the Son

I, as I am sure many others, know people who complain about everything and do nothing to change any of it. As we have discussed before, we are all going to experience bad things, challenges, situations, and some people can do nothing to change their situation. And, there are countless others that will do absolutely nothing to change theirs.

For those that cannot change their situation, I humbly pray that GOD will make a way. For those that refuse to do anything to change theirs, I want to talk to you for a moment. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. IF you want things to change, you have to change what you are doing.

Today's word is a quote from Guy Finley that says, "If you want light to come into your life, you need to stand where it is shining."

If you are complaining about your plight in life and how difficult it is and how hard it is to meet new people, while you are sitting on the couch and haven't gone outside in three weeks, nothing is going to change. If they haven't shown up at your house in the last three weeks, they probably aren't coming. However, if you go outside, there is a world of people, places, opportunities just waiting.

What I am trying to say is that GOD will provide everything we need. However, we have to do our part. I call it putting feet to our prayers. If you are walking around in a dark room, and you want light, you have to flip the switch. If you don't feel the sun shining on your face, you have to turn into the sun. If you want a closer walk with JESUS, turn to the Son.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

A plan to keep me alive

I'm a people watcher. I don't know about you, but, I sit back and watch folks. Not like some weirdo, just staring and making folks uncomfortable; more of someone who just observes how people interact and react. You can learn a lot from watching how others respond to things.

I have seen people go through some really difficult and trying times. I have seen perseverance and resilience and toughness that seems beyond human capabilities. I have seen folks push through when others would have dropped into the fetal position and given up. While some folks are just mentally stronger than others, I do think, for GOD'S children, there is a certain something that can make us stronger than others?

Today's word is Psalm 54:4, NLT, which reads, "But GOD is my helper. The LORD keeps me alive!"

When we know that GOD is on our side, we need not fear anything or anyone. We can rest assured that He is working all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Does that mean that we shouldn't go through bad things? No, we live in a completely broken and fallen world. It does mean, though, that we do not go through it alone - He is our helper. We can also rest assured that the LORD keeps us alive. He provides everything we need to make it through this life - food, shelter, family, etc. - but, most important, He has made a way for us to live eternally with Him!

Do you find yourself fighting through some things? Don't worry, we all are. And, we are here to help one another as we go through this life together. Find some folks that will help you walk through this valley to the next hilltop. Find some folks that will remind you that GOD is our Helper, and He is working even when we can't see it. Then, remind yourself that not only does He have a plan for you in this life, He has made a plan for eternity, a plan to keep me alive!

Be Blessed,

When we least deserved it

Have you ever been given a gift, an award, a honor, a designation that you didn't deserve? All you have to do is look at my life to see someone that has been blessed abundantly above anything I could ever think, dream, or imagine. I have a godly wife that is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. I have two beautiful, healthy, funny, loving kids. I have a great job that I like, with folks I like working with. I have good health, a great place to live, and the list goes on and on. BUT...

But, it doesn't stop there. When this life is over, I am going to spend eternity with my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST forever in Heaven. There will be no more pain, no more suffering, no more heartache, no more loss, just eternity with the LORD. And, I don't deserve that either.

Today's word is Romans 5:8, NLT, which reads, "But GOD showed His great love for us by sending CHRIST to die for us while we were still sinners."

We were not deserving of GOD'S grace and mercy but He loved us enough to make a way for us to spend eternity with Him, His Son, JESUS. And, JESUS didn't come because we were good people, deserving of a SAVIOR. No, He came just because He loves us. Deserving it or not deserving it had nothing to do with it; it was all about love.

As we progress through this life, we will have countless occasions when we receive things that we in no way deserve. When this happens, it is humbling; or, it certainly is to me. My prayer today is that if you don't know JESUS in a real and personal way that today will be the day you accept His gift of salvation, by grace through faith. You can come to Him just as you are. You see, He gave us the greatest gift, when we least deserved it.

Keep It

According to the National Day Calendar, today is National Be Smart about Credit Day. It is easy to get trapped by the credit bug. We see things we want, we apply for credit, they let us have it, then, we have to pay for it over time. There are things that this is absolutely necessary for (houses, cars, education, etc.) but, we get ourselves in trouble when we use credit for things that are not essential.

I know A LOT of people that really don't care how much something costs; all they care about is how much does it cost per month? How much is the payment going to be? The care can cost $95,000 but, if they can get payments for $200/month FOREVER, they are okay with that. We really have to be careful when it comes to what we owe, and to whom we owe it. Because, and here is the kicker, we are EXPECTED to pay it back.

Today's word is Ecclesiates 5:5, ESV, which reads, "It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay."

There are lots of folks out there that will make a promise to pay back what they owe but end up defaulting on that promise. Every time we sign papers to borrow the money to purchase something, we have vowed that we will pay for the item(s) we have purchased. There are times that defaulting can't be helped (sickness, loss of employment, etc.), there are many other times, though, when we just don't fulfill our promises, and that is not pleasing to the ones we owe nor to GOD.

Today's verse is a great reminder that we need to mindful of our good credit. It is easier today to get things that we don't really need than it has ever been. It may cost you five times more than it is worth but you can still get it. Just remember that if you choose to buy it on credit, you are expected to pay for it. We, Christians, are to display the attributes of our Father, Who has always kept His promises. It is better to not promise than to make a promise and not keep it.

True Strength

Have you ever watched The World's Strongest Man competitions? They used to come on ESPN and I would watch some of it occasionally. These guys were extremely strong - extremely. And, if I were ever to find the need to have someone bench press a refrigerator, these men would be at the top of the list; they were as physically strong as humans could be, I suppose.

However, I was watching an episode once, where the challenge was a 100 yard dash, while carrying a refrigerator on their backs. As they were quickly walking down the track, one of these guys' leg bent at a 90 degree angle at the knee. Of course, ligaments gave way under the extra weight he was carrying on his back. It reminded me that physical strength is only as strong as the weakest ligament, tendon, muscle, bone.

Today's word is Proverbs 11:7, NLT, which reads, "When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength."

Now, I am not indicating that the participants in The World's Strongest Man competition were evil. I am just saying that it is great to be super strong physically BUT physical strength will not go with us into eternity. We must have our spiritual conditioning done; we must be saved through accepting JESUS CHRIST as our LORD and SAVIOR, which will make us stronger than anything physical could ever do.

It is super good to take care of our bodies, temples of the Holy Spirit, but it is far more important to take care of our spiritual selves. One day the physical strength will all be gone. One day we will see that all the physical strength truly is feeble. One day we will stand before the One and Only Holy and Just GOD and give an account. And, we won't be judged on whether we can bench press a refrigerator or run a four minute mile or climb a slick building. All that will matter that day is whether we have true strength, which only comes through JESUS CHRIST.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Great value in that

What are you good at? It is a question that we have all probably been asked countless times, in countless different ways. In sports, it may be what position do you play. In a job interview, it may be what special skills do you have. In a building project, it may be are you better at nailing or at cutting?

We all know what we are "good" at. I can tell you that my list is fairly small, and the older I get the smaller it gets. Plus, things that I used to be fairly good at, I am not as good at anymore. However, as I have lost some abilities in some areas, I have gained abilities in others. I may not be as fast as I used to be but I am more clever, quicker even, to get to the spot I need to be in time. Experience is a great teacher.

Today's word reminds us to focus on the positives: "Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are."

We all have a tendency to focus on what we are not. I am not the best looking guy in the world - never have been, never will be. I am not able to bench press a refrigerator - never have been, never will be. The point is that there are lots of things that I am not, and I could focus on all the things I am not and feel miserable all the time.

Instead, I want to focus on what I am. I am GOD'S child, and will spend eternity with Him. I am the husband to the loveliest, sweetest lady GOD ever created. I am the father to the two greatest kids any father could ever have. I am a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend. There is more value in what I am than in what I am not. There is so much more to what I have than to what I have lost. Put the emphasis, the focus on what is important - you are an incredible masterpiece, and a work in progress all at the same time; there is great value in that.

Him Only

There are a lot of things that people worship: false gods, the gym, money, etc. What they most often find, though, is that none of those things have eternal significance. When our time on this earth is over, we will be taking none of the money we have amassed with us. There will come a time in our lives that physical strength will wane. And, I would hate to think about entering into eternity without the One True GOD.

It seems that people will make a god out of anything. Some folks love to "worship" creation instead of the Creator. Isn't the One that created it more significant, more worthy of praise than what has been created?

Today's word is Luke 4:8, ESV, which reads, "And JESUS answered him, 'You shall worship the LORD your GOD, and Him ONLY shall you serve."

JESUS was in the desert being tempted by satan, when satan tells Him that if He would just worship him that he would give JESUS authority over things and give Him things of this earth. But, JESUS, GOD Himself, knew that anything satan could offer far paled in comparison with what GOD would give His children. Nor only an abundant life here, but eternity in Heaven.

What are you chasing? Are you spinning your wheels, going nowhere fast? Are you stuck in a rut with no way out. Are you looking for that magic bullet that will make everything better? Are you thinking that more money, more stuff, more whatever is going to fill the void you feel? There is only One that can fill that void and make you feel satisfied - His name is JESUS. Worship Him ONLY.

Be Blessed,

Two things that may change your life

I have often said that it isn't usually what I say but how I say it. I have a tendency to sprinkle most everything with a pinch of sarcasm. And, I have absolutely no doubt that there are those who get sarcasm, but the majority do not. So, if I have to end up trying to explain the sarcasm, it really loses its emphasis and humor. It isn't usually what I say but how I say it.

The flip side of my sarcastic self is the fact that I am not harder on anyone than I am myself. I am an OCD (CDO) perfectionist. I walked in one afternoon from work several years ago and Trish was watching a show that had a "perfectionist quiz". We both took the quiz. If you scored 100 or more points, out of a possible 200, you were a perfectionist. I scored like a 196. So, as hard as I may seem on others, I am more hard on myself. Both can be counterproductive.

Today's word is something to remind us to be kind to ourselves and to watch what we say around others: "Two things to remember in life: Take care of your thoughts when you are alone; and, take care of your words when you are with others."

We can really be overly critical with ourselves when we are alone. We will tell ourselves that we are things that we are not, that we are worth far less than we are, and that we will never be something that we don't need to be anyway. What we need to remember is that we are a child of the King of Kings and He has a promised future for us.

When we are with others, we need to be equally cautious. Not only can our words cause them to have negative thoughts about themselves, they can cause others to tell things on us that are not true. All it takes is a few words said to the wrong person to change your life. So, when you are alone, guard your thoughts. When you are with others guard your words. You may just be surprised at how much those two things may change your life.

You will never be the same

As I probably mentioned, last week I was in New Orleans for a conference. There are tons of places to have conferences, this one happened to be there. And, I could go on and on about all the things that you shouldn't do there but I am reasonably sure most of you know what you ought not to do. We all do.

The point I want to make, however, is that while I was there, I was watching the local informational channel and they were interviewing one of the local bar owners. The bar owner was telling the interviewer that on Sundays her establishment played more "spiritual" music, and a good time was had by all. She went on to say that everyone didn't have to worship the way she did, and that whatever god you worshipped was just fine, and you could still have a good time at her establishment.

Today's word is Acts 4:12, KJV, which reads, "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Much like many pop stars and movie stars and celebrities, in general, that want to be politically correct and not offend anyone, people will try to tell you that everyone is okay as long as they worship "some god". I am here to tell you that they are wrong. I am here to tell you that, if they know JESUS as his/her personal SAVIOR, they will give an account for allowing others to go astray and for telling them that they are alright no matter what. There is only ONE TRUE LIVING GOD.

Don't let anyone try to convince you that anything other that JESUS will do. There is only one way to eternal life in Heaven, and that is there accepting JESUS CHRIST as your LORD an SAVIOR. GOD will accept you just like you are. BUT, once you meet Him, you will never be the same!

I want to be an influence

I had a very interesting and engaging conversation with a friend and fellow believer last night about how I want to be an example for my kids and others. I fail miserably at times, but, I so want to be a good example. I want to be someone that they can look up to and know that I try to serve my LORD and SAVIOR the very best I can.

The conversation hinged on the fact that I don't partake of alcoholic drinks of any kind, in any way. I won't, purposefully, order a dessert with an alcohol-based glaze or sauce. Not that I think it is wrong or that it will cause me to become "drunk", but, because I don't want others to see me and cause them to give in to a temptation that they fight every day. I want to be an example.

Today's word is another quoted. I apologize for having two days of quotes but this one sums up what I try to get through to my kids and others: "You will NEVER influence this world by trying to be LIKE it." And, I'll aid, "Or, by trying to be liked BY it."

As Christians, we are called to come out from among them and to live differently. I know we have covered this before, and I apologize for digressing, but, it bears repeating. We are children of GOD, a royal priesthood, an heir with JESUS CHRIST, we shouldn't live like we belong to the king of this world. We should try to live in such a way that others know that our Father is not of this world.

I am really talking to myself, reminding myself, today. I want to be an example. As I said, I want my wife, my kids, my family, my friends, my coworkers, and everyone else to know that JESUS CHRIST permeates every facet of my life. I want them to know that I serve Him and that I try my best to do His will. I want them to see a good example. I want to be an influence.

Make others happy too

I have probably shared before that I am a morning person. I know, I am not right. But, I don't mind getting up early. I like the mornings. I like to get up and see the sun rise, exercise, read my Bible. There is something about being up early and getting going. For me, sleeping until 9 AM feels almost as if I have wasted most of my day; that's just me though.

Not only am I a morning person, I am also usually in a good mood. You know the type; some would consider over the top, overly positive too early in the morning. But, it is not a show or a front; I truly am a pretty happy person. Why? Because I know how good GOD has been to me and how much better He is to me each and every day I live. I trust Him with everything.

Today's word is just a little quote I came across that reminds me to be happy: "Be so happy that when others look at you, they become happy too."

Ever smiled at someone that looked really down or really bothered, just to see them smile back. Sometimes, all it takes to make someone else's day is to treat them with a little respect and to smile. Isn't it true that seeing other people happy can make you happy. I know it is true for me. Why not be the one to start the happiness.

There will be hard days that turn into hard weeks that turn into hard months. BUT, if we can find some little something to be happy about, some little positive something to smile about each and every day, it could change our lives, and the lives of countless others. Be happy; make others happy too.

Under His wings

I have probably shared this before, but, if I have, just bear with me for a few moments. As a young child, probably until I was about six or so, I would cover my head up at night so the "boogie man" couldn't see me and get me. Now, about six or so I realized that there was no "boogie man", and if there was, the covers offered very little protection.

But, there was something comforting about hiding under the covers. There is still something comforting, maybe when we are fighting a cold or some other malady, about crawling under the covers and feeling its warmth. There is something strengthening and comforting about being enveloped in a covering.

Today's word is Psalm 61:4, ESV, which reads, "Let me dwell in Your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter or Your wings."

When things are going bad, when the storms are raging, when there seems to be no end in sight, there is nothing more comforting than GOD pulling us close and protecting us. The Bible tells us He envelopes us like a dove will envelope her children under her wings. The peace and comfort that comes from knowing that we are safe and secure in the arms of GOD cannot be explained. It is one of those things that is far better to feel than to talk about.

I pray that you feel GOD wrapping His arms around you; that you can feel Him pull you close and protect you. Because, whether you feel it or not, the truth is that He is doing just that. We can rest comfortably and securely and safely under His wings.

Mickey T

Enjoy some chocolate milk

Well, I can hardly let today go by without acknowledging, according to the National Day Calendar, that today is National Chocolate Milk Day! Man, I really like me some chocolate milk. Anyone who really knows me or has been around me very much will attest to that fact.

There is something special about chocolate milk, and I don't necessarily mean the sweetness nor the chocolate per se. But, I have always enjoyed taking a glass of cold milk and mixing in chocolate mix. It will surely make you happy, happy, happy. However, as I have grown in my Christian walk and life, I have come to realize that even that simple glass of chocolate milk that I enjoy so much is a blessing from GOD.

Today's word is Ecclesiastes 2:24, ESV, which reads, "There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of GOD."

Solomon reminds us in this verse that there are few things better in this world than to eat, drink, and find enjoyment in our work. Now, he did not mean to be gluttons or drunkards. No, he simply meant that GOD has given us good food (enough food) and drink. How often, I complain about what we are having for dinner, when I should be grateful to my Father for providing such good food for my family and me. How often we complain about our jobs, when we should be grateful that we are able to work and that we have somewhere to work. It all comes from GOD, and we should be thankful and express our thanksgiving to Him.

So, even a simple glass of chocolate milk should remind us of how blessed we are through our Father in Heaven. He has given us exceedingly, abundantly above anything we could ever think, dream, or imagine. Give Him thanks, then enjoy some chocolate milk.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Times that we shouldn't speak at all

Ever heard the old saying, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt"? It is really good advice; sage advice that I would be wise to remember. Often, I find myself willing to speak before I really need to, before I even think about what I am going to say, before I even think about the fact that the best thing I can say is nothing.

I think most of us have a tendency to want to communicate. And, I think most of us have a desire, while communicating, to appear reasonably intelligent. Yet, if you are like me, you may find yourself engaging mouth way before engaging brain, which will land you in one uncomfortable position after another.

Today's word is Proverbs 17:28, NLT, which is a good reminder of how we, sometimes, need to remain silent: "Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouth shut, they seem intelligent."

This verse, from which the saying probably originated, reminds us that the best things we can sometimes say is nothing at all. I like the fact that it says, "Even fools are thought wise..." So, anyone can appear to be wise if they follow this advice - "when they keep silent.." Then, it goes even further: "...they seem intelligent." When? "...with their mouth shut..." Wanna look and seem intelligent - keep mouth shut.

I guess the truth to be taken from this, and so many other things, is that there is a time to speak. And, there are a lot more times that we shouldn't speak at all.

Go out and vote

It's Register to Vote Day, and I think, if you are not registered to vote, that you should go out and register to vote. Then, you should vote. You shouldn't stop at registration; you should continue on and cast votes. Voting is one of the greatest privileges we have as Americans and so few people take advantage of it.

I will never tell you who to vote for or what not to vote for; that is between GOD and you. However, I will say that we should pray and seek GOD'S will and, then, cast our votes. I mentioned to someone once, that I voted for a certain third party candidate. This person asked me why I would go and "WASTE" a vote. To which I replied, "If I vote my conscience, my vote is never wasted."

Today's word is Proverbs 29:2, NKJV, which reads, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; BUT when a wicked man rules, the people groan."

The only way we can ensure that we are led by good, righteous, godly people is for us to go out and elect good, righteous, godly people. If we don't go out and vote for good people, we have cast a vote for the other party. Again, one of the greatest privileges we enjoy here in America is the freedom to vote and elect.

Register to Vote Day; take advantage of it. So many people have sacrificed to give us this privilege to elect good, righteous, godly leaders. Let's make full use of it. Register to vote, then, go out and vote.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Truth will Prevail

Can you control what people say think about you? Or, just as important, what others say about you? Goodness no. People are going to think and say whatever they want to think and say. Now, I try to do the right things and be respectable and respectful but, man, there are those who will talk about me like I am the biggest waste going, and they are usually the ones closest to you.

You know what I can do about what others think or say about me? Not much, other than to try and live a life that disproves all they are telling. So, I have this saying: "Think what you want to think, believe what you want to believe, and say what you want to say. BUT, I know the truth."

Today's word is just something I came across that says: "The Truth shall Prevail." Amen.

This simple sentence is telling us that JESUS, the TRUTH, will triumph. No matter the circumstance, no matter how awful or stressful it is. No matter what others think. No matter what others do. No matter, come what may, JESUS is in control and He will prevail. We can trust that He will fight our battles, defeat our enemies, and bring us to a good end.

Look, there is absolutely nothing you or I can do about what others think or say. We can ask them not to say it, but, that often does very little good. What we can do, though, is rely on GOD to see us through. To know that He knows the truth, is the Truth, and that Truth will set us free. Not only that, the Truth will Prevail.

Through our faith

Have you ever overcome a major obstacle in your life? For some, it may have been trying to go to school, or go back to school, while raising a family and working a full time job. For others, it may have been a physical challenge that required a lot of time and effort. For others, it may have been letting something go and knowing that GOD was going to take care of it.

We will all have obstacles in our lives, obstacles that need to be overcome. Each time we overcome a challenge, each time we find ourselves persevering, each time we defeat an obstacle, we grow a little more in our faith. Faith gets stronger when we exercise it.

Today's word is 1 John 5:4, NLT, which reads, "For every child of GOD defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith."

If you are a child of GOD, you can know that, come what may, you already have the victory. We know that JESUS defeated death, hell, and the grave; and, so shall we. We know that difficult times will come but ultimately, we will be victorious. And, where does that victory come from? Our faith. We know that GOD is on our side and that He will lead us safely through.

Got an obstacle that needs tackling? Got a challenge that needs to be overcome? Got some persevering to undertake? We can rest assured that GOD will faithfully help us to do each and every one of those, and more. Not faith in ourselves, but, faith in the One that will lead us through. For, we, His children, will defeat this world through our faith.

Your heart's desires

Well, today is our two little ones' birthday, seven and six today. It is amazing how fast the years have gone and are going. The old saying, "With children, the days are long but the years are short," is certainly true. It is hard to believe that they are seven and six.

So, what do I really want for our two children? I want them to know that they are loved and that they are safe. This summer, they both prayed to receive CHRIST as their Savior, but, I want them to be safe in this world, too. I want them to be successful and thoughtful and giving and caring and kind. I want them to do GOD'S work.

Today's word is Psalm 20:4, NLT, which reads, "May He grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed."

Today's verse is my prayer for our two children; that GOD would grant them their heart's desires and help them be successful. Now, of course, all the desires and success will come from them following GOD and doing His good will. I want them to be successful in all the right ways.

As you go about your daily duties, remember that GOD has a great plan for you. He wants you to be successful and useful. More than anything, though, He wants you to be His. Because, every father wants to give his children nice things; this is even more true of our Heavenly Father. Happy Birthday little ones! May God grant your heart's desires.

Never Forsaken

As I type this, Hurricane Florence is on our minds. I pray for those that will be affected by the devastation that will be wrought by this force of nature. I can't imagine what must be going through the minds of those that are in Florence's path. Even if you have the best homeowner's insurance in the world, there is still probably great concern.

Of course, for me, as long as everyone is safe, everything else can either be repaired or replaced. However, it takes years to build what they have; it takes years and time and hard work to get something the way you want it and love it. It must feel as though there is no hope. However, for those who seek the LORD, there is always hope.

Today's word is Psalm 9:10, NIV, which reads, "Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You."

There will be times in our lives when we feel as though we have been abandoned or forsaken, but, as a child of GOD, we can rest assured that the LORD is right there with us. Not only is He there, He has always been there, He will always be there. There is no place we can go that He does not go before us, and that He is not there with us.

We pray for those who are in the path of whatever is coming. I pray that GOD gives me peace and grace to withstand whatever storm comes my way. I pray that I will recognize and feel His presence and His power as we weather those storms. I pray that I remember that He has never forsaken those who seek Him.

Wait in Anticipation

As I looked at our bank account this morning, I couldn't help but rejoice that tomorrow is pay day. I don't know about you, but for us, there are times that we seem to run out of money way before we run out of month. I am awaiting the deposit going into our account tonight/tomorrow morning at midnight. It's anticipation.

Anticipation means to expect something; to await some occurrence with expectation. Now, I needn't worry about payroll going into our account, it has every week for my entire career. But, there are countless other things that we anticipate; that we expect. I seem to always be anticipating something.

Today's word is Micah 7:7, NLT, which reads, "As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for GOD to save me, and my GOD will certainly hear me."

There are those anticipations that are not very encouraging, not very comforting. The anticipation of a test result that we didn't study for. The anticipation of correction for some misdeed that we have perpetrated. But, there are other anticipations that excite us, that we expectantly, hopefully await.

In today's passage, Micah tells us how to joyfully and peacefully anticipate. First, we look to the LORD. We can rest assured that He is working all things for our good. No, all things aren't good but all things work for our good, when we are His. While we wait, we can wait CONFIDENTLY. GOD is on our side and He will see us through. And, we can know for certain that He hears us, as we wait in anticipation.

Be the Encouragement

According to the National Day Calendar, today is "National Day of Encouragement". Life is hard, difficulties arise, and we all need a little encouragement from time to time. When things are rocky and trying, there is little more invigorating than to have someone come along and encourage you.

I couldn't count the times that I have been encouraged by someone or by something that someone has done. We all need that little boost every now and then. We all need someone to give us that shot in the arm. How about you, have you had folks encourage you? Have you been the one that brought encouragement to another? We should.

Today's word is 1 Thessalonians 5:11, ESV, which reads, "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

The Thessalonians were taking the time to encourage one another and build one another up. There is a time to correct and really get in the face of someone. I have mentioned before that I am a big fan of the verse that tells us that "Iron sharpens iron". We need folks to get in our face at times and straighten us out. We also need someone to get behind us and encourage us, too.

So, on this National Day of Encouragement, try to find a way to encourage someone. We will all encounter a number of people today that just need a little pick me up - be the encouragement that they need.

I pray that we always remember

Today is the 17th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on American soil. I, as I am sure others do, remember it like it was yesterday. There are still images etched into my deepest psyche that will never be erased. We can never forget or suffer the chance that it will happen again.

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't dwell on the events of that horrible, terrible day. But, I also never forget what happened. We can't afford to let our guard down because the enemy is still out there; there are those who would love to destroy us just because we are Christian, just because we are American. My prayer is that we always remember that these enemies are alive and well.

Today's word is Psalm 25:2, NIV, which reads, "I trust in You; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me."

David was a mighty warrior, GOD'S warrior. When something needed to be taken care of, David was the man for the job. Yes, David did a lot of things wrong; he made a lot of mistakes. But, when it came to doing GOD'S work and will, David seemed to be always ready, always vigilant, always prepared to face and defeat the enemy. Why? Because he knew Whom he served.

I remember all those brave men, women, and children that lost so much seventeen years ago. I pray for those who are still affected by those loses. I pray that GOD will be close to them today and always. I pray that they KNOW that GOD is close and that they can put their trust in Him. I pray that we always remember.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Our Father Does Not

I don't know about you but our lives seem to be an endless flow of changes. Of course, with a soon to be 7 year old and a soon to be 6 year old, we see the grow almost overnight. It is amazing at how rapidly they are changing: getting taller, enlarging vocabularies, etc.

For Trish and me, of course, there are changes. As we get a little older, the endurance that we once had seems to be harder to find. Aches and pains that we used to not know are very well known. There have been job changes, address changes, even church changes. It seems, as I said, that something is always changing.

Today's word is two parts: Malachi 3:6a, NLT, and a quote I came across. So, Malachi 3:6a, NLT, reads, "I am the LORD, and I do not change." And, the quote by Bradley Paul is "Just know that when life changes, GOD never changes."

So, no matter the changes that may be going on in your life right now, no matter how uncomfortable and unsettling they may seem, just know that the same loving, caring, eternal, all-knowing GOD of yesterday is the same loving, caring, eternal all-knowing GOD of today. He knows what the future holds, knows what we are going to need to overcome the obstacles that may arise, and knows how to see us safely through.

Life is inevitably and constantly changing, and there is really no way to stop it. However, we also know that our GOD is working all things for our good, and that HE NEVER CHANGES. We can rest safely and securely in the fact that while everything around us may be changing, our Father does not.

All He has done

As I have mentioned previously, we are on the brink of playing our first game tomorrow. We coaches have done everything we can to try and prepare these young boys for this upcoming season. We will see what we have and adjust the best we can. The boys, of course, are a little anxious and nervous, rightfully so.

We all get anxious from time to time. We all get a little nervous about situations and change and things that are potentially around the corner. Yes, we are considerably older than these young boys we are coaching but, I too, am getting a little nervous and anxious about the game tomorrow, and the upcoming season. Paul instructed the Philippians on what to do when they are feeling anxious.

Philippians 4:6, NLT, reads, "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell GOD what you need, and thank Him for all He has done."

When I start to get anxious, and I don't mean about the upcoming youth football season, I try to remember all that GOD has already done for me. I am amazed at all the things He has done, all He has provided, all that He has brought me through. And, when I remember all those things, it gives me the courage and the strength to keep on keeping on.

Feeling anxious or nervous today? Instead of allowing it to overwhelm you, why not pray about it. Ask GOD to give you wisdom, discernment, and guidance to navigate through whatever is on the horizon. The, remember all that He has already done and rest secure in the fact that He is still working all things for your good. Then, thank Him for all He has done.

Never give in, never give up

So, I am helping to coach Blake's C-Team, full contact, tackle football team. This is a team of 5, 6, and 7 year olds mostly, with a few that turned 8 after the deadline. We play our first game of the season this Saturday, two days. We are trying to show them all we can about football, how to tackle correctly, how to maintain containment, etc. BUT, you can't coach heart. Period.

Heart/desire is something that is individual. I have seen some athletes that had been given some gifts to play a particular sport but they weren't as good as they could be because they didn't try. On the other hand, I have seen some athletes that weren't as blessed with GOD-given talent but would wear the "talented" guy out because they wanted it, and because they wouldn't give up.

Today's word is just a simple quote that says, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up."

There are things in this life that will challenge us on a daily basis. There are things that will challenge us on a moment by moment basis. And, we can either decide to fight through each challenge and accomplish what GOD has for us to accomplish OR we can just give up. I don't know about you but I don't want to give up. I want to see things through. I want to do what I have been called to do. I want to set an example for my kids that we accomplish nothing by giving up.

The next time you are faced with a challenge, and you will be. Pray to GOD, Who will give generously, for the strength to keep on keeping on. He will help us persevere and push through if we will only ask. He will renew us daily if we will only ask. And, He will help us to never give in nor never give up.

Be Blessed,
Mickey T

Worth every minute

Anything worth doing is worth working for. It really is that plain and that simple. It takes devotion; you have to be committed to doing what is worth doing every day. So many people give up just when they are about to succeed. So, how do we stay devoted?

I think devotion, like most everything else, gets stronger the more you use it. We have heard all of our lives that we have to keep testing our brain, we have to keep exercising our bodies. Why? Because, the more you use it, the stronger it gets. The more devoted you are to something, the more you try to do it, the more you try to make it a priority, the more you try to nurture it and love it, the stronger that devotion becomes.

Today's word is Colossians 4:2, NIV, which reads, "Devote yourself to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

"Devote yourself to prayer..." We should set aside a time to commune and converse with the LORD. Not, to lay out a laundry list of wants but to draw closer to Him. We are never closer to those we love than when we purposely take the time to sit down and communicate with them. Our relationship with GOD will never be close than when we devotedly take the time to purposely have a relationship with Him.

And, when we do that, we can sit back and watch what happens. He will strengthen our resolve. He will show Himself in our lives in unimaginable ways. He will fortify us with blessings that we would normally miss. It all starts with devotion - purposely making and taking time to draw closer and to communicate with the Father. Trust me, it is worth every minute.

He can change anyone

Have you ever noticed that it seems that anyone trying to do something good will be torn to shreds in today's media. If you are a Christian, if you try to live your life and base your decision-making on GOD'S standards, you will get ripped apart by others. We shouldn't be surprised that it happens but it most certainly does.

I applaud and pray for those who continue to fight the fight and to persevere in the path that GOD has laid out before them. It can't be easy to continue on when everything good thing you do is criticized and trampled. Especially when you see others that won't stand for our country praised. But, again, we shouldn't be surprised.

Today's word is Proverbs 29:27, NIV, which reads, "The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright."

JESUS told His disciples that the world, the "religious" folks, those that don't know Him in a real and personal way, would hate them. BUT, they need not be surprised because, the world, the "religious" folk, those who don't know Him hated Him first. As Christians, we shouldn't be surprised that others stand in defiance of everything we stand for, everything we believe in; they hated our SAVIOR first.

The difference, though, is while they stand against us (they really stand against JESUS) and hate us, we pray that one day they, too, will come to know JESUS and serve Him. And, if they ever do, it will change their world, and ours.

I think about Saul of Tarsus and how GOD transformed Him into Paul the Apostle, once Paul allowed Him in and allowed the hate to stop. We will continue to push on and to pray. If GOD could change Saul of Tarsus, He can change anyone.
