There's an old saying that tells us that we are what we eat. What they mean by that is that our health is vastly affected by what we put into our stomach through our mouth. If we eat bad things, we will have bad health, and vice versa.
I like to think of that in the spiritual sense as well. I have used this saying many times but it emphasizes this point - trash in equals trash out. If you take in nothing but bad movies and bad literature and bad language and bad whatever, all that is going to come out is the bad. Trash in = trash out.
Today's word is from Jeremiah 15:16, NIV, which reads, "When Your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear Your name, LORD GOD Almighty."
Jeremiah knew what to feast on. It wasn't the false teachings of the prophets of Baal, it wasn't whatever witchery Jezebel was selling, it was the WORD of GOD. If we will take the time to eat from the Holy Bread, the Word, we might find that we are less angry, our health is better and we look better.
You know what they say, "You are what you eat." Let's feast on the Word of GOD.
Be Blessed,
Mickey T
