It's useless

Ever have anyone tell you that your efforts are useless. Well, I have. And, I might add, they were sometimes correct. I have tried a lot of different things that haven't worked but I have never stopped trying. Thomas Edison is quoted as saying, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that didn't work." There is no failure if you keep trying.

However, there are things that are useless endeavors. Trying to lift the Empire State building with just your strength is useless, you cannot do it. Trying to fly like a bird by flapping your wings is a useless waste of time, you cannot do it. Trying to get me to change my mind once I have made it is a futile effort, it won't happen.

Today's word is from Acts 26:14, New Living Translation, which reads, "We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against My will.'"

GOD had gotten Saul's attention. You know Saul, who became Paul, who was going around persecuting and killing the new believers. Well, GOD had gotten his attention and told him that he could run, he could hide, he could fight but it was useless to keep trying to oppose GOD'S will.

I am not the smartest guy in the world. I have been outside of GOD'S will. I have tried to do things my way. I have tried to reason with GOD why I wasn't the best candidate for what He wanted me to do. But, in the end, I tried my best to do GOD'S will. Why? Because it is useless to fight against GOD. You cannot win. The best part, though, is when you start doing GOD'S will, you find that that is exactly what you wanted to do anyway. Fighting against GOD is useless. Doing GOD'S will is humble fulfillment. Quit kicking against the pricks and find GOD'S will for your life.
