Will you answer the call?

Love is a verb, an action verb. I tell my children, and try to show them often, that love is not just a feeling, love should make us want to do something. Love should make us want to do things for those that we love, things that will make their lives better, easier, nicer, to help them have the feeling of love because they have seen love.

JESUS tells us that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. And, that others will know we are His because we do what He has called us to do. And, what has He called us, commanded us to do? Well, first we are to love GOD with all we have: our heart, our soul, our strength, (our mind). And, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Today's word is James 2:17, NASB, which reads, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself."

Just as love, faith, too, is an action verb. Don't take this the wrong way, you don't have to do anything to be saved except to accept JESUS as LORD and SAVIOR. It is by Grace through faith that you are saved, not of works, lest any man should boast. But, our faith should cause us to want to do things to share the Gospel with others, to love others, to lead others to a relationship with JESUS, to extend GOD'S kingdom. Our faith should call us to action.

I have mentioned it many times and don't want to beleaguer the point, but, it is absolutely true: GOD has a purpose and a plan for your life. He has something for you to do as His child to promote His Kingdom, and to lead others to Him. What your calling may be, I don't know. What I do know is that our faith should cause us to want to do something. Will you answer the call?

Be Blessed,
Mickey T
